The 1963 The Haunting. Beautifully shot. Gorgeous black and white. Carnival of Souls is another. Genuinely creepy movie. I'm also a big fan of Evil Dead 2 and In the Mouth of Madness is fun as hell.

Blair Witch seems basic, but that really got me with the ending. I do not like horror films overall, so I stick to psychological thrillers mostly… The Shining, Carrie (orig 70’s version), & this weird movie Devil was good.. not terrifying, but def twisted lol!
