If you've been wondering what your money's gone to, attached find 29 days of writing on my NaNoWriMo 2020 project, an isekai novel called The Ex-Hero's Inn.

It's nowhere near finished yet. In addition to being only about half to 2/3 done in first draft, there are a LOT of problems I want to address:

(1) The characters, other than the main character, are too subservient to him- they go along with his wishes too easily. I need major rewrites to give them more reasons to follow his lead and more pushback when they have other interests.

(2) In fact, all the characters, the main character INCLUDED, need better characterization. I need to develop their personalities much better than I have done. The earlier chapters are worse, because I was focused more on solving George's problems than creating rounded characters, and I feel it shows.

(3) The price scale for things needs nailing down. I can't complete the first draft until I do that.

(4) There are four Earth-origin characters in this story, of different ethnic backgrounds. I want to run the draft by people who are actually from those backgrounds (except for the white guy- I think I can cover that one) to make sure they sound right and aren't demeaning or patronizing. None of the four is meant to be a full-on buffoon or empty stereotype, and I want to make damn sure they don't end up that way.

But several of you have been asking, so here it is so far. There actually are a couple of moments in this draft I'm fond of, and originally I was going to just post those. But since you folks are footing the bill, you deserve the whole thing as it currently stands.
