We’ve built them by mixing a Roman base (scale armor, clean profiles) with Renaissance elements to create a unit “dressed the old way.”

We’ve gone for oval shields, very Italian-style, to underline that classical military feel.

Their heraldry will be the serpent with the coffer keys—keepers of the gold, guardians of the oath.

How does it look to you?Does the Roman–Renaissance blend land well?

We're going to give you another option with a kind of beret. We don't have many helmets left to make, and we don't want to repeat models that you already have.

Awful combination. I really don't like this.

Not bad, but it would be better if the helmet was a sallet or a barbute, invoking a little bit of the Classical style, but in a firmly 15th Century space.

I love the scale armour! In my opinion though, the arm and leg armour seem a bit too heavy compared to the body armour. I found this website which has heaps of cool examples of byzantine and Greek armour throughout the ages. Heres a link showing one of the designs - https://www.hellenicarmors.gr/en/armor/%CE%B2%CF%85%CE%B6%CE%B1%CE%BD%CF%84%CE%B9%CE%BD%CF%8C%CF%82-%CE%B8%CF%8E%CF%81%CE%B1%CE%BA%CE%B1%CF%82-%CF%84%CE%B7%CF%82-%CF%8D%CF%83%CF%84%CE%B5%CF%81%CE%B7%CF%82-%CF%80%CE%B5%CF%81%CE%B9%CF%8C/#

Please, remember to keep a "blank shield" as an option for people who want its own heraldry on it ☺️

Thanks a lot! The inspiration is indeed mainly Byzantine, good eye there. But we intentionally pushed the design toward a more Renaissance-style fusion, something that feels a bit eclectic and unconventional. There will be soldiers with more traditionally European cuirasses as well — the goal is to build a unit that looks wealthy, diverse, and slightly iconoclastic, as if each warrior had equipped himself from different high-quality sources. Really appreciate the observation!

Good point! We’re also adding a few helmets in that style — sallets, barbutes, and similar forms — but we don’t want to overuse them. Many of our other kits already include those shapes, and the idea here is to keep a balanced mix so the unit feels varied without repeating the same silhouettes too much. Of course, you can always kitbash across our ranges if you want a stronger Classical-15th Century look. They blend really well together. Thanks for the feedback!

You're welcome! I love history and seeing types of armour and weapons that you don't normally see in mainstream fantasy, so i quite like the concept. I appreciate your historic approach and look forward to seeing what these models look like

I love the anachronistic blend.
