Asking Alexandria — Things Could Be Different
The genius. The family’s failure. The sinner.
You were born and raised—or more like conceived by design and trained—to become the shining star of your family. After severely and continuously disappointing your parents, you were replaced on the pedestal by your younger sibling, who showed more promise from a young age.
You had a hunger for other places since you were a child. When you reached adulthood, you left your home and traveled over the world, learning and training until you honed your body and mind into sharp weapons. While traveling, you earned a reputation that couldn’t be described as ordinary… But then again, all known geniuses are eccentric in one way or another.
Seven years ago, injured and weary of your journey, you settled in your current location after an unfortunate meeting that led to cannibals hunting you down, though they wanted your magic rather than your flesh. The House Astarte helped you. Theresia/Theresis Astarte, the Head of the House, allowed you to stay on the condition that you became their ally, which meant supporting all—or at least most—of their decisions and not forging alliances with the local families behind their back.
They need you, or, to be more precise, the strength you possess. Naturally, it gives you some negotiating power.
Theresia/Theresis should have executed you or chased you away when they began to understand what you were planning, but instead they decided to use it as leverage—as long as you were smart enough to avoid involving anyone else in your magical experiment. That way only you would receive a divine punishment if you succeeded.
The chances were low. It was nearly impossible.
But you did it.
And now you’re in trouble.
Their age is set to 34 for plot/timeline reasons.
The MC’s backstory will play an important part in the plot, so it is mostly set in stone.
They’re bold, confident (at least most of the time), and morally ambiguous, and can’t be played differently.
You will be able to choose their primary weapon and how they approach battle (aggressively or patiently).
The MC already has some kind of relationship with each character, all with different dynamics.
I’m still contemplating whether I’ll give them a god that they revere or at least use for power. If I do, you will be able to choose one from a list.
