Hey everyone!
Looks like most of you are having issues with the remake.

But before I do something drastic like changing the engine mid-way, I need to know the numbers!

Could you play the latest chapter of Ascension until the end? (Eagle's hideout, after Diego's mission briefing.)

I got that error some people also had when loading the game from the title menu and only one crash on a area transition, but other than that it runs fine! There's a slight lag on loading a new area, but I can live with that 🤔 That bellow is the error I mentioned, figured out the way to load from a new game all by myself 😁 "Error Uncaught Typeerror: cannot read pretty 'bindtexture' of null For more info, push f8"

Rachel

My only issues were a few crashes, but it didn’t have any impact Bc I knew to save often. The crashes are also probably due to my crappy computer anyway lol. Loved the new chapter, can’t wait for more!

Kikiolana

I have a pretty old computer, but I only experienced one crash when we first saw Diego and Kole speaking in the hideout. The initial loading time didn’t bother me, but it was a little irritating having to wait a few minutes each time I went to another area/inside a building. The loading message also popped up when exiting out of the shop menu from vendors around Northcliff. Despite the lag, this is still a format I really enjoy playing. The amount of details/the dialogue/the art is absolutely stunning together.

LukkaDev

The only issue I ran into is the crashes (which i have maybe two at most each time I play) and the lag that happens when I exit out of the options menu (the one for accessing inventory, quest log, saves, etc.)

PandaPhoenix

I only had issues 3 times (with the nsfw version, will play through the regular one later today) (and with issues I mean the game crashed but I luckily saved a lot in between scenes) First was during the nightmare walking part (and after loading the save file I made after opening the secret door the opening wasn't there so it looked like before I opened it but all ingredients where still in the specific container and I could just walk through the door, into the darkness and walk until I hit an object and interact with it just fine) second was after zander and tillie want to give sky and aida some time at camp and third was after talking to diego for the first time when he tells you to come to his room when you agree to his conditions and and you have to answer tillie Apart from that and just some minor things like longer loading time before I could move in a new scene which didn't really bother me, I really enjoyed playing the first chapter. it's always amazing to see how much work you put into the games and I can't wait to continue with the next chapter. zander is still bae :3

LittleMink

My PC isn't working right now. But I did play earlier iterations of the prologue and I didn't have issues.

Court12413

I had an easier time playing chapter 1 than I did the prologue. When the game first started it would lag a bit to move but I was in a hurry to get playing if I gave it a bit to get situated it was fine. It only crashed twice on me this time. Which improvement from the prologue.

Celia

It crashed twice for me, can't remember where. The first, the game just closed by itself, and the second, it was stuck in loading so I re-started myself. It also lags a bit after saving, but it's nothing. Besides that, everything went great. Amazing job!

I have 4 different save files, and while three of them were fine, one got this error about 5 times when trying to load the merchant road. But it eventually let me through!

otominei

The game would close almost after every time I saved it. I was definitely enjoying the lay out but the lag was also noticeable after every time a new map would load. I hate that this is having so many technical difficulties and I will definitely play this through til the end no matter which path you choose!

Minthe

Aside from the crashing, there was a lot of lag. It took almost a full second before the characters move where i told them to.

Brookselia

It crashed 3 times on my laptop. It's a new and pretty powerful laptop so it's definitely not due to a lack of resources. There is no peek in the ram usage. I would suggest a nullpointer exception on a necessary resource or a type cast error.

g

i don't know how, but it worked pretty perfectly for me, and i have a mac (catalina) fwiw! only thing was that the game was a little laggy or slow to load sometimes, but i don't personally consider that to be a major issue.

Jaxxie

I’ve been having problems with both my computers with the game. It runs really well on my Mac desktop computer I have but if I go into the menu from Esc. or the title menu, and try to change the options, when I back out it causes an unknown error. I also can’t save at all. If I try, it pushes me back to select a file. My other computer runs on windows and is pretty crappy already so I don’t even bother

Jaxxie

I was able to get through the game without any crashes on my Mac desktop computer but was unable to save at all during the entire time. So I just finished the mission debriefing with Diego but have no saves😭

Redkitty120

The game crashed on me alot of times, usually while it was loading to another scene. One time it crashed while I was talking to Zander in the forest so I had to save every few seconds in case it crashed on me. But I still managed to play it thank goodness.

Angel

It took 6 minutes just to get past the opening text, to which I was greeted with lovely if not laggy music and a promise of "Loading. . . "

You should probably vote for the "I can't even open the game" option! :)

rinmaru
>>34264687

"There were a lot of issues but I could still play until the end." option, then. :)

rinmaru

This is new. All of my crashes were due to memory leak. 😭I'm crying now lol.

Seems like most people can play with only a few issues, but I'll wait for more votes. =) Will probably finish season 1 with rpgmaker but change engines next season.

rinmaru
>>34220571

There was a slight improvement for me too. I wonder what's causing all these problems for some people but not for others... 😬

rinmaru
>>34220571

I'm %99 sure it's the game. One or two people could be a computer issue, but this is multiple people having same kind of problems. 🤔 I'll try asking some rpgmaker programmers. Maybe they may be able to help!

If you do switch platforms for the second season, will game play be similar or will that change entirely?

CL

Apart from the fact that I couldn't save still (Mac OS High Sierra) I finally got to play the game once I got the handle of lockpicking lol and it didn't crash even once ! Great job as always, love your work ♥

(I was a bit surprised with the new system for the NSFW scene ? but same as for lockpicking, it was quite easy to get the hang of and a nice addition)

JayMay

Hey Rin!!!!! Love the remake, but I can't seem to adjust anything in the options menu without the game crashing. :( Other than that its really good!!!!

Madison Trent

I can't find the Inn for the life of me !!
