Plant Boss Extra Tiles and More! (Patreon)
Content
Hello! Today's release builds on the one from last week.
There was a suggestion to expand on last week's plant boss with some extra tentacles. They can be used as minions for the boss, or maybe as limbs that have to be defeated as a gimmick. Or maybe they can be part of a navigation puzzle like the dungeons in Shadows of Adam.
There's three color variants: a regular green, and the orange and purple colors to match the two different colors of the main boss sprite.
The sheet has two animations. If you're using RPGMaker, think about it in this way: you can animate the tentacles going in and out of the ground with a "turning" animation, and then when they reach their full height, you can use the "stepping" animation to have them wiggle in place.
Downloads - Tentacle Sprites (single sheets):
Plant Boss Tentacle - Green - 100%
Plant Boss Tentacle - Green - 200% (RMVX)
Plant Boss Tentacle - Green - 300% (MV/MZ)
Plant Boss Tentacle - Orange - 100%

Plant Boss Tentacle - Purple - 100%

Remember for RPGMaker: Add a "$" to the filename because this is a single-character sheet.

Then... as I was working on those... I kept having more ideas to make the most of this set. So today I'm dropping those animations as well as some extra tiles.
It's nothing too fancy-- but I thought that we might be able to make more use of the leafy "base" of the boss plants-- so I made some tiles where the player might be able to climb down after he's defeated the monster. Maybe there's treasure that the boss was guarding.
(I thought about saving these to share as this week's second post for Friday... but I figured that since I have them ready for today... that would count as cheating! 🤐)

Like all my tile add-ons, these are arranged in a regular grid so you can easily add them to any existing tileset.

That's it for now. I'll be back later in the week with something new. See you on Friday.
Thanks!
