Airship Zeppelin Tiles (Patreon)

Hello! This is a big one that's been on my list for some time now. Happy to share these with you today.

We're looking at the big balloon at the top of the ship here (the ship in this example is a sketch I used for testing)-- I made the tiles so that they should be able to work by slapping them over any other regular ship:

This type of framing is most famous from the iconic airship scenes in FF6.

I noticed that they don't even show the full balloon in that game from this angle, its just a border at the top of the map... Well... that isn't gonna stop us!

I included "anchor points" that will tie the balloon down onto two types of airship. Check it out, the tiles should align well enough with either my Time Fantasy ship set OR my OpenRTP ship tileset (which is a better fit for Elements).

Hopefully everything should line up well enough. They want to be be open-ended and useful to add onto any other tileset or custom-drawn ship you might be working with too.

Now you see why I didn't have this set ready for you on Monday! 🤪 These tiles are be pretty complex to put together.

Note these are in a format that should work right in RPGMaker on the B layer. If you're not using RM, feel free to re-arrange as usual, if you do move the tiles, REMINDER make sure to keep grid-snap on because the ropes are pretty precisely aligned.

(I have some ideas to revisit and fill out the blank spots on the tileset, I didn't quite have time to fully explore using these tiles to make the hot air balloon too. So if you work with the tileset, be aware that I might have an overwrite the set from a future update... maybe next time!)
