Hello! I have a special announcement today.

I've been thinking about how to best structure my next major tileset release. I want to do something that combines multiple popularly-requested themes and locations, but without too much overlap with previously-release sets. Earlier this month I posted this thread for suggestions for potential "beast village" tiles (feel free to continue adding to that thread; I'll refer to it as I build these tilesets).

This is what I'm going to do: Time Fantasy: Exotic Lands

The next tileset release will include three different tileset locations. This structure will be similar to the Ruined Dungeons tileset pack, which had three separate locations together under a single theme.

(Of course, the "Exotic Lands" name isn't final. If you have a better suggestion, let me know!)

Time Fantasy: Exotic Lands will contain tilesets for:

Giant TreeYggdrasil tree, with roots, branches, giant leaves, etc-- with areas for an inside-the-giant-tree-trunk dungeon as well as pathways and villages in the branches outside

Feudal JapanShogun world; based on classic eastern fantasy settings-- Japanese castles, villages, shrines, bamboo forest, sakura trees, etc

AtlantisUnderwater city, ruins, caves and sunken treasures. underwater tiles: coral reef, seaweeds, shells, etc

These themes were chosen so that I can use them to include multiple suggestions from the "beast villages" suggestion thread as well as previous patron requests. I'm hoping to cover a lot of ground between these three tilesets -- and of course elements from each will be useable in different locations as well, in line with the mix-and-match nature of Time Fantasy tilesets.

Lastly, here's a little preview. I haven't done much yet, but I'm working on the base terrain tiles for the first location.  This small image shows what I've done so far with the Inside the Giant Tree tileset:

Please share any thoughts, ideas, suggestions, or anything else!

Thanks!

I'll be back next weekend with some new graphics. Have a great weekend!

PukeyYuki

PukeyYuki

hey sorry man, im a bit confused. I go to the link and it says i need to be a patreon and im on the 10$ patron subscription, how do i get the download key?

Jonathan Fox

Cool! I was most excited for the feudal japan set, but I gotta say that giant tree preview looks AWESOME.

Biggs

Giant tree looks super cool! This looks to be a awesome set.

Zach

This is really cool! Do you plan on adding overworld stuff as well, or in the future?

k

With the giant tree set, please can we get rustic looking structures / walls as well so we can use those for the dog men type settlements as well?

mishakoc

You are seriously amazing, I'm really looking forward to this!

SmoLife

That's awesome!

Troy Hepfner

I think the Exotic Lands name is good! I wouldn't change it. I love the ideas and the preview. Exciting!

BruinsCat

I agree with Troy. The name works well, and it doesn’t limit you from adding more exotic sites in the future. I’m excited to try out the tree city!! Thank you!

The Beard

I think some rotted ground that you can fall through in the tree area would be great! Also some Knot holes that lead to the outside of the tree so you can climb on branches ect would be awesome as well! Looking forward to all of these so much!

finalbossblues

Probably! I usually revisit the world map a couple times a year for patron updates, even if it isn't part of the tileset pack itself.

Joanna Truman

Oh my GOD I am so excited for this. All three of these worlds are my actual dream come true. THANK YOU!

Stephan Liennard

Could we get some window-type parts for the tree tileset? That way we could use it as a village/town tileset. Also, would the Atlantean stuff match the Ancient Dungeons Greek? Anyway, awesome stuff!

Bramble Bear

Giant Tree would be perfect. Also Feudal Japan and Atlantis are welcome additions. Sounds like it's going to be a big undertaking.

Mana Cloud

Brilliant! Can't wait to see how these turn out.

Zach

Awesome, I look forward to those as well! :)

Stefan R

That sounds great!
