I only looked at posts which listed 1 movie and looked at the thumbs up for that movie. It got way too overwhelming otherwise but thank you alllll for your suggestions. I may do more than 1 depending on the popularity.

I will keep the original post as a reference though but I've disabled comments for it since the poll is here now =)

I know people like to crap on it now but i think Dances with Wolves is a beautiful and classic film.

Jay Jay

Dances with Wolves is a classic and won an Academy award for best picture. Contact is really good as well.

Too bad Bedazzled didn't make the cut... cest la vie!

People crap on Dances with Wolves now? I've never seen anyone say anything bad. I think it's held up pretty good. Although I do think too many people be forgetting all the academy awards it won.

HACK THE PLANET!

I voted for my original choice, Contact, but Dances with Wolves is an excellent movie..If you can watch both, you won't be disappointed..

Matt

Children of Men is a true masterpiece, its set in 2027 hope you can watch it before then 😂

Scott Masek

UHF just for the gimmicky nostalgia-ish. All the choices are good though ✌🏼😎

Eddie Perkins

That is easy for me: Dances with Wolves

Dances With Wolves, epic historic drama of triumph and tragedy how Americans dealt with the indigenous native people in their zealous drive to the west and to 'civilize' them and the raw land. It has a long running time. 3 hours.

Paul Rich

Which would require a skilled editor to cut subplots to boil it down to the main through line.

Jay Jay

Mary stick with the Theatrical version. The Directors cut is even longer. Plus it's usually good to stick to the Theatrical for a first time watch.

Paul Rich

I watched it again yesterday after not seeing it for decades. It is very cinematic meant for the big screen. I do believe you can edit it down. There are long stretches of majestic scenery that can easily be clipped. Definitely a 2 parter due to length. The wolf is very symbolic, metaphorical, allegorical. Some parallels to Australia aborigines and European harrassment.
