Can’t wait for Avengers Doomsday and Avengers Secret Wars. Can’t wait to see Robert Downey, Jr. as Doctor Doom. By the way, that was Robert Downey, Jr. as Doctor Doom in the end credit scene, as well.

Nowhere Man

Dang, these new-release movies are spendy. In any case, this movie is visually stunning. The blue-color-tone theme is epic. And the soundtrack is also pretty awesome. The spaceflight "science" in this movie is basically just space magic, but there is one glaring flaw: the location of the black hole is nowhere near their Earth, so there was no possible way they could've returned to their Earth without the FTL drive. Even at 100% light speed, it would've taken years or decades or even centuries, and there would've been a massive time delay. But, whatever. It's still a nice story. In my opinion, Vanessa Kirby, and the character she plays, are the centerpiece of this movie.

Complaining about the pacing in this film just baffles me.

Nowhere Man

I didn't mention the pacing in my comment, but yes, I was surprised by how slowly this movie developed. From a cinematic-art point-of-view, all movies should be allowed to take as much time as they need to properly develop the characters and plot and suspense (without pointlessly wasting time). However, from a consumer-product point-of-view, it's very risky creating a movie that causes people to leave the reality of the movie and start thinking about the movie as an (unsatisfying) viewing experience, rather than as a (satisfying) escape from reality. Overall, I think this movie succeeded at overcoming any of its limitations, and it delivered a spectacular ending. So, in that context, mentioning the pacing isn't exactly a complaint. It's more of a concerning observation.

Didn’t spoil anything. It’s been Marvel’s mainselling point since they have been promoting this film off of Robert Downey, Jr being Doctor Doom since Comic Con last year.
