Fun Fact: THERE WILL BE BLOOD and NO COUNTRY FOR OLD MEN were being filmed in the same town just miles apart from each other at the same time. There is a famous scene in THERE WILL BE BLOOD, and that actually caused the NO COUNTRY filming to stop for 1 day due to the logistics involving that scene being visible on the horizon. Ironically, NO COUNTRY FOR OLD MEN beat THERE WILL BE BLOOD for Best Picture at the Oscars that year.

“Boogie Nights”. All I knew about Mark Wahlberg back then was he was “Marky Mark”, the underwear dude. And he played a creepy guy in the movie “Fear” (1996). But he was great in “Boogie Nights” and it’s a very good movie with a kickass soundtrack.

"first PTA movie on the channel" What? We've already had plenty of Pain in The Ass movies on the channel! ... Oh. Never mind. ... Sorry. :-P

There will be a blood is absolute masterpiece. Gets my vote. Based on a novel inspired by dangers, the business and greed of discovering oil in the late 19th ane early 20th century.

I think boogie nights is his most approachable film of his earlier work. It’s such a classic.

With how tight the vote is if you like the winner I'd definitely recommend watching the runner up

I thought Mary meant a parent teacher association film and then l saw the list. 😄👌

Jay Jay

It's definitely a great film but I think Boogie Nights is the better PTA introduction film to start with.

If you wanna watch a movie with your favorite Director and one of the greatest actors to ever live… There will be blood

MahlerEnigmatic

So I take it you voted for Boogie Nights? I voted for There Will be Blood only because it's a much better thought-provoking film.

Honestly? I don't have any strong preferences here, so I'm letting those who are more invested decide among these worthy contenders. (Just for the record, my link to Harper Valley PTA was not meant as a recommendation, as I am only aware of the film because of the song that inspired it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aOZPBUu7Fro )
