a lot of your sense of direction comes from how the sound interacts with your pinnae and it helps you differentiate sounds to focus on. You can hear without your pinnae but you would essentially be deaf. Your brains understanding of sound would drastically change since you got so used to sound being channeled into your eardrum through the outer ear. Not to mention how air pressure would change without your outer ear.
