Hey everyone,

In this video I work on the base for my entry! Every part is probably around 95% now. I’ll spend the final week finishing and putting it together. I’ll post the final part after the event so we can talk about how it goes.

Enjoy!

Andy

Looks great! Going to Spiel for the first time this year and am looking forward to seeing it in person.

Thanks for sharing the green rock colour story Andy - it’s. Dry reassuring to know that that sort of thing happens to all of us! 😂 The pieces are looking great - can’t wait to see them together. Best of luck at the show 👍🏻.

Excellent work. The way you talked about it at the end felt very personal and I think it comes through on the final piece. Good luck on the home stretch!

love this mate, been good to see you smashing through this and how much life you bring to the bases. Hope to see it in May!

The base looks absolutely incredible! I think it might actually be my favorite part of the piece. Super excited to see it all come together, what a wonderful story, setting and execution. All the best for the competition!

I don’t know what to say. This is everything I love. This whole piece. Wood Elves, forest bases, greens, browns, the attention to detail, the idea of the scene, the deer. I really hope you are doing incredibly well with it. I wish you the best of luck and as I said before. I’m so so so sad I can’t see this in person. I hope you have an amazing time here in Germany at SPIEL. Cheers!

Loving this base (and the whole project in general), it really straddles the line between natural and "rendered" if you know what I mean. It definitely looks painted, (I can see the Albert influence) so that should go down well with the judges. I think maybe a bit of ambient reflection on underside of the bird would sell the satin-y feathers and integrate it a little more (but feel free to ignore me, you know what you're doing).

I absolutely cannot wait to see this, this weekend! I'm really hoping that we're able to get close enough to the cabinets to see it in enough detail. Thank you so much for sharing!

God that looks incredible Andy

I absolutely adore this base… it’s just incredibly beautifull! The small “trick” with the tuft to use it as small single grass sprouting out of the ground… so simpley yet so naturally nice! I don’t know if it’s okay to ask, but what sort of ground cover are you using there? It’s incredibly nice!
