Hi all,

No public episode this week, just an absolute whopper for you lot. Keep the fantastic questions coming. This one was a bit more crunchy than usual, I hope it's still enjoyable.

Cheers, Henry

Another excellent episode - thank you so much!

Do y'all ever admit folks to the Discord? Maybe I'm doing something wrong

Great episode. Love the fact you guys are sticking to your principles. One of thing things I really respect about CoP is that you present gravitas and experience rather than chasing the algorithm using silliness - which has its place and can be fun, but can also be grating if not done well/overdone. Really interesting point about the difference in pressure that chasing the algorithm must bring for creators 🤔

I missed the last post but do you already know or can you tell if the new infinity will also be aluminium? (I heard you had on last video you had some really bad review of the last one on this subject for some obscure reason)

Thank you for answering, appreciate it! Almost 100k subs? Who's gonna get the play button lol? Really appreciate the conversation on the company ethos and not getting stuck chained to the algorithm. "Painters who happen to have a YouTube channel" is my favorite genre of hobby/art video

Great podcast! Apologies if you guys are already planning to get to this in the next episode, but I realized I may have posted my question to the wrong video. I wanted to make sure you guys saw it and so I am now posting it to the correct/patreon only section. “I took a class with Andy recently at this year’s nova open and he utilized an ipad for a lot of his references when painting. I was wondering if you might do a video in the future as to how you source references, if you use any programs to further adjust references to identify areas for highlight, and any other interesting techniques/tools when using an Ipad for reference. Thanks!”

Great show. This crunchy long form pod helped on my drive to the office! Here’s a meta question; how do you film a tutorial? I have opinions (I don’t, but I’ll find some) and have attempted making tutorials in the past with not much success. Is it too meta to have a tutorial about….making a painting tutorial?

Jens Schneider

Great episode, thank you for taking the time to do this! You’ve managed to form a cult with positivity, skill, integrity and authenticity. That’s probably a first. 😜 Oh, and I’ll definitely try getting rid of the hook on the synthetic brushes with heat!

Great job guys (as always) Mr Steele, are you any closer to completing the Spyrer project in time for November?

Krucky

Would love to see Henry tackle a competition piece! Golden demon seems to prioritise the Eavy metal style. Are there any changes/considerations to your paint style you make when painting for GD?

Grimdark Mark

A great listen, thanks Henry and Andy.

Really enjoyed this. The business chat really resonated, I have a 2 man business which has just passed 11 years and we have exactly the same principles regarding picking your projects and keeping it lean, which I have observed to be unusual. Glad to hear someone else with similar thoughts. Keep at it gents.

This was incredibly good! I personally prefer when you both talk about subjects in more detail and push each other to be more articulate. Having followed you guys for a couple years, I'm finding this a breath of fresh air. Not that Cult videos have become stale in anyway but somehow I feel like there's more potential in even better articulated content. Your elaboration of the business side was fantastic for example. I don't know, if Henry you feel like people may think that it's boring when you get in-depth but I pretty much always feel that when you do, the end result is great. It's sometimes frustrating when I sense that either of you are editing yourselves when talking about a subject due to self-criticism. It's feels like there's some really compelling info under the surface but we're not able to quite reach it.

Great episode, really enjoyed the discussion. On synthetic brushes, I’ve had a good experience using the monument hobbies synthetic range.
