Hooray!

Here we go, Part 1 of the series. I am really interested to see what you think, as this is a much longer video then we have done before, and it is only painting one feature.

I will make a choice on all the colour for the rest of the figure, and get you the paint list this week.

You can post you progress on Instagram and use the hashtag cultofdraxus. We will check them all out!

Have fun painting,

Andy

Draxus Masterclass Part 1: Jade Armour

Really enjoyed the video. My point of feedback: I would have liked to see your palette more often as that would have helped me know if my dilutions were in the right ballpark. I initially struggled because my dilution seemed closer to a glaze and I had little control over creating the correct volumes.

Long videos = 👌👌 I love listening to in-depth explanations and demonstrations. I think this could be why Darren Latham's videos got so popular, so fast. Keep it up, gents!

Allie Donald-Munro

loving the longer video so much info to take in and love seeing the techniques in real time rather than just a small part then boom area done.

Daniel

I also prefer these longer in-depth tutorials as nothing is left for us mere mortals to mess up. As you show us all the various brush strokes for each panel. Excellent stuff👍

Joseph Barnard

My paints have just arrived! Can't wait to have a go. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

I liked the longer video format for the masterclass Level; now just waiting for the ak paints.

Fergus Pick

Love this video format! Paints came this week so will give everything a go asap!

Ken Brate

Like the format and the information. Better lighting would be a help as it was very dark, hard to see the miniature and your progress. And yes my monitor is turned up as far as it will go...

Craig Miles-Clarke

Awesome! Going to prime her tonight and hopefully get a few coats of paint on her.

Rob Cass

This is really great Andy. The longer video format is super helpful for newer painters like me to absorb the techniques and not get tripped up too badly by the different volumes. Also really appreciate how you’re focusing on core techniques that help to build strong foundations that can be applied to many different situations, and not confusing it with a 30-colour recipe. The results you’ve demonstrated look totally awesome - keep it up! Cheers.

Loved this video. Keep this format up on the Masterclasses. Need to assemble my Kyria now

Showing all the parts is very important. The thigh is a primary point so it would be easy to just show that, but all the other shapes around the model can be quite nuanced and it really helps that you call attention to those as well

Brantyn Yates

Great video Andy. The length was perfect for me and the info was concise. Just joined so looking forward to getting started on this masterclass.

Thank you so much to make such an extensive video showing so many parts of the process! The painting job in this armour is beautiful beyond believe, one of my favourites ever.
