Hi all,

Final part of the Army Painting Dark Eldar series. I've also attached the accompanying PDF, with some notes and thoughts on the project.

I think it's gone well. Let me know what you think of the format and anything you'd like to see more of in the future.

Enjoy!

Henry

Would very much welcome one long, time stamped video. Really enjoyed this and the army looks amazing.

Thanks. Really good video. It has given me a lot of good ideas. Also I really like that you are explaining the thought process rather than the recipe.

Thanks for this Henry, really informative and insightful (especially the spiky warning!!!) - I also second the request for a long format/timestamped video. With the PDF it would be handy if the paint list also featured the broad section each were used in. I really enjoy both your and Andy's tutorial/teaching style, hopefully I can make it to a live class if we are ever allowed to have them again!

Really really amazing guide! I have just gone all in on doing a Dark Eldar army and these guides have convinced me to try to implement this color scheme. Feedback: I have pretty much only positive feedback. I love the balance between demonstration through visuals and the commentary. The level of detail in the commentary was really great. Also re: comment on earlier video: It was obvious when colors were swapped, just wanted to tell you :)

Really loved this video! Always great to hear your process as you go along, absolutely beautiful scheme and would love to see more of these videos. You guys are killing it with the content, find myself really looking forward to each post!

Hi Henry, great video again im really loving this format focusing on schemes across an army. As someone who predominately collects and likes building armies instead of single figures its really great to have refs like this to refer too. I always tend to prefer to try and emulate work that i see by others so would certainly love to see more of these for different forces by both you and Andy. Thanks!

Rob Cass

Great video yet again Henry - really enjoyed the format (bite sized chunks can be good) and especially appreciate how you go into explanation of why you’re doing things and why different approaches will or won’t work. You and Andy are both really excellent teachers. Cheers!

Jared Clifford

now your making want to paint up some DE in that scheme Henry!! Great job...I'll have to give it a go

Brad Snyder

I’m a big fan of the shorter video format. A long video now and then is great, but shorter videos makes it much easier to remember where I left off.

Lee Jaggard

Really enjoyed this mate. I find the longer time stamped videos handy as all the information is in one place, but with that said the shorter separate videos concentrating on different areas work really well too. I have no interest in painting Dark Eldar, but for someone who is more of a table top painter I really enjoyed the fact that you painted an infantry model and a vehicle in the same schemes. Most paetrons / painters I have followed in the past tend to try different styles between the infantry and vehicles and it then becomes confusing trying to replicate the different schemes.

Courtney Merz

This series of videos was super informative for me on the thought process behind tackling a larger model and the color theory that went into it. I don't mind either style format over the other, but I find that the shorter videos are a bit easier to digest information-wise. Also, I have to admit, I'm super pleased with this color scheme as it matches some hair color decisions I've made :D lol Anyway, would love to see more about oil paints as you mentioned in the video, maybe more on enamels or lacquers as well, just to have that in my arsenal. I appreciate all you guys do!

Mike F

Love this scheme. Turquoise and purple? Andy will be happy 😊

Loving these Army painting videos Henry. Your style of painting is what I aim for with my minis. The "realism" achieved from this style and weathering is right up my street, especially for the Heresy. Keep them coming mate, would like to see your take on a weathered Heresy White Scars vehicle. Do you ever use the oil brushers by ammo? How do you find them? I've got a load but never really bother with them. If I do, I usually put them into a pallette and then use a normal brush as you would any other oil or enamel. Or if I use the brushes at all its for defusing a surface with lots of different colour dots to make a filter.

These videos were so great! Learnt so much on the way. Love to see what you would do with some wyches :D

Michal Powers

I want to do this in purple instead of turquoise. what purple colors would you recommend for same deal but in purple.

Michal Powers

Also what fan brush do you recommend

Hi guys, really enjoyed the film especially the question and answers at the end. As an idea how about we send pics of our models and you gave feedback? Just short comments on specific mistakes or improvements. I know we could do the higher level patreon but there is limited space and not enough time for everyone. A bit like when you review choices on the YouTube chats but with our models. What do you think?

Andreas Jensen

Hi Henry. I have been watching and rewatching these videos in my quest to replicate the lovely turquoise scheme. Something that would be super helpful to know is recommended drying/curing time for various steps. Some of them are new to me and knowing how long tamiya needs to dry (pot says an hour), how long the gloss varnish needs to set before applying pinwash etc. Would be really helpful in speeding up my army painting process. Cheers /Andreas

I just completed my first venom and 2 Kabalites. In this scheme. So happy with the results and so thankful for you putting up this great series! Would love to see the oil deep dive!

Hi Henry, great series, I'm a new patron and I'm working my way through your back catalogue and I have to say the vids and tutorials from both yourself and Andy are superb. Feel like I'm really learning a lot, there's always something in every video I didn't know about or is new to me so it's great discovering those tips and tricks! I have a question, apologies if you have already answered this before. Are there any extra considerations needed when cleaning your airbrush after using the tamiya paint/thinner before you can then use the water based acrylics through it? Does it require any extra cleaning steps?

Long shot, but I would love to see a video of how you would replicate the pink scheme from the Kabalite video onto a raider, it was my favourite of the three but unsure of how to put it onto a raider.

I would like something like that too. At least a short guide how to transfer the technique to the paint scheme. That would be nice
