Hi all,

Here's the first video in a short series about how i'm painting my Astral Claws for a Badab project.

As I mention in the vid it will include marines and militia.

Let me know what you think, I've been itching to get this underway for 10 years!

"Oh good" I think to myself, a chapter I have no Interest in and dont need to buy models for......wow that paint job would look great on an army...maybe just a squad...and so the cycle continues

Haha same as above comment although I have already started some raptors, love the badab post I’m seeing all over. Can’t wait to see more!

Really like the style of video, as someone who struggles for time at the moment with a little one its nice to see what can or should be achieved realisticly in a single session, sometimes dosnt come across in videos how long things can take. I can stop stressing I'm not getting enough done now. The scheme is brilliant, this is exactly what I was looking for with my silver templars, never thought to apply filters with oils like that only ever pin washed then tried glazes but never been happy with the smoothness of the blends. Do the oils kill the shine or is that something you plan too fix with a varnish?

Really loved it! That bitume oil stage was so transformative. I'm incredibly excited for a potential Argel Tal video. Been planning together a Word Bearers KT/small army project for 2022 so I can't wait to see what you do for him. Feel like I've hit the lottery!

You gotta hit me with that Executioners scheme, have had plans for them on my back burner for my Indomitus set

I'm liking the 'hobby session' format, it makes me feel better about the fact that I don't seem to get too far when I sit down to paint. I'm also liking the fact that you've brought oils in beyond a wash, you make it seem so much more approachable than others tend to.

This is great Henry - the ‘hobby session’ format is useful and interesting. Majorly stoked that Argel Tal is coming soon: really like the model and love how flavourful the Word Bearers are (working my way through the Heresy novels at the moment so right in that zone). Keep it up! 👍🏻

I enjoyed the format and really thought you hit the feelings of it you were going for. I'm particularly interested with the comments you made about trying to push the contrast for the tabletop. I've found the same thing with my Kruleboyz is that I love them up close as I'm painting them, but on the table they don't have the depth I thought they did.

#Badaboner so hot right now.

What great timing on Argel Tal. Got some time off soon and was planning to finally get round to painting some Gal Vorbak. Enjoyed the video too. Idea of badab very tempting also.

FINALLY A BLUE IM IN LOVE WITH FOR MY WORLD EATERS. loved y'all's YouTube vid on the WE but the contrast blue just never popped on the table for me. Very excited to try this out.
