Good morning all!

Thanks for all your positivity around my previous video. As you can see from the thumb I’ve really got a move on with this figure! Today I just wanted to talk about skin, I thought it would be a quick video but still ended up being 30 minutes! I wanted to explain my choices in depth, which I feel are more important than the technical painting.

Cheers!

Love all the thought processes here Andy though I'm about to start a whole vamp army and you have me questioning my scheme already!

Absolutely loving this project! Makes me want to start working on a diorama myself!

Great video! I just can't help but think there isn't enough space between the vampire and the hunters - if they were farther away, the diorama would be so much more atmospheric!

That skin looks so good! Something I noticed when you had the wide shot of the hunters that adds to the story is the direction of the wind as evident by the flame. Do you envision these being experienced hunters that would be sneaking up on the Vampire from downwind (meaning flame would go away from the vampire) or newbies where they are coming from upwind where the wind would carry their scent to the wolves and vampire (so flame and wind are towards vamp). The latter fits with the veil of the killed woman but would be interested in your thoughts on that as a comment here or in a future video!

This is a really excellent video Andy. The analysis of your colour choices and volumetric lighting on the muscles was really helpful, as was looking at the gradients on the ‘palette cam’. The vampire is looking absolutely fantastic; can’t wait to see how it progresses. Cheers.

Thanks Andy, really interesting to get an insight into your process and planning as well as how much time you invest into single components of the model. Looking forward to the next episode in the series!

This is a fantastic video. I tried using brown-grey as a base for some chaos marine skin and holy moly it's coverage is awful

Love this! Are you planning on painting the shadows of the vampire hunters on the ground with the OSL as well? On a diorama like this do you find it easier to do the minis first then paint the environment? Or is it a bit of back and forth do the main work on the minis then do the diorama then finish up the environmental light/effects onto the minis?

Great work so far. I love being part of this journey. Its awesome to see the careful and considered decisions talked out.

Andy, looking great. I have but one, humble request. Moving forward, please only refer to the hunter's torch as a "stick of fire" or alternatively a "lantern". Just to keep it canonically consistent across episodes. :-) Thanks for posting this, lots of good info on undead flesh. Also, Scale 75 Black Leather is probably my MVP color, that I never thought I'd use quite so much.

I love this. I want a Snagga army of "Grey Bastards" with, obviously, greyish skin. How would Henry airbrush this kind of skin?

Joeri Wijker

So strange that any paint with a grey in it (brown-grey in this case) would cover so badly (assuming the grey is made of mainly white and black which cover well). Maybe we are talking about a chromatic grey (e.g. purple/yellow?)
