More learnings to add to the notebook for sure! A dash of the grimdark with these.

Would love to see you go off on a Kratos or a Rhino. Your favorite use of oils on vehicles, authentic weathering, not straight metal treads etc. Probably not to the GD level of your IW tank. But in that vein. With so many tanks and vehicles in Heresy I’d love to make them look apart from my 40K ones

The Sigvald Burgundy really caught my eye when GW previewed it - just a lovely looking colour. Could do without the distraction as I’ve got enough projects on the go, but I really want to try a Word Bearers scheme with it.

Love it, Henry! Have y'all ever tried the Wax based True Metal paints from AK? I've been using them after I matte varnish the model. Looks great to bring a shine back. :) Also with Blood for the Blood God you can mix in a tiny bit of brown wash/paint/contrast to make it look like old dried blood. I've done a couple layers using the brown mix first and the "fresh" blood on top, looks great! Also... West Coast Canada visit 2023... you know you want to. We'll make it a thing, free beer and room and board for you and the Cult gents. ;) Can do a big 30K/painting event..... come on.. :) :) :)

This is great Henry, and if you feel the inclination to paint chaos models in a grim dark style then there’ll be plenty more thumbs up from me 👍🏻😁. In terms of products, I’d be really interested to know the Cult of Paint view of the Golden So Flat paints that are gaining more exposure at the moment. I can decide whether or not to pick some up, so your thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Cheers!

Weathering pencils are something I'm not sure I've seen our scene succeed with, might be worth a spin?

Love it Henry, and definitely keen on more grimdark videos. It's a very achievable way of painting and I'm enjoying your take on speed painting. Noticed you didn't mention Ben's EC Sicaran as upcoming in the vid, any ETA on that?

Anders Stålhandske

Would love for you to go grimdark on some newer chaos models!

Great series so far. In reality every mini cant be our best effort possible if we ever want to play with them. Personally i find all of the COP videos very informative and always have take aways for my own projects.

💯 grim dark styles all the way for me please. Painting and or miniatures. The former and weirder the better. Something you could send to Inq28 magazine (I’m sure they’d kill for an article from you guys)

Really enjoying this series Henry. Honestly, I think the approach of 'try new stuff now, where it doesn't matter' is very clever. I've also picked up a few tricks that I'll be trying myself! On a different note: YES TO MORE GRIMDARK (both subject matter and techniques). Might I suggest some of the more niche Horus heresy models? Dark Mechanicum? Blackshields/shattered legions? Loyalist and extra disgruntled IW? 😅

Savage Miniatures

This video really resonates with me. After around a 8 year break from the hobby it was the grimdark painting and miniatures that got me back. The Blanchitsu articles in white dwarf and the growing inq28 online movement. In regards to what it like to see next, I'd love to see you kitbash some inq28 stuff. Maybe just a single miniature. Something of your own design and creation in the 40k universe not just a converted space marine etc. The zenithal + contrast + oils + weathering method has been my go to the last few years with a baby daughter it's been a manageable method to paint small warbands etc between work + family commitments. I usually always use ak ultra matt after the contrast paints because I just love the finish.

Wow love this reduction style, love to see a vid of it being used of the new Hexbane's Hunters for underworlds! Would be really interested to see how this style translates over to a witch hunter mini.

They look class all together. Bit late to the party but would love to see a grimdark take on Tau or nids

Marco Frisoni has developed a few metallic contrast paint recipes. Check out his Helbrecht video on Youtube, if you haven't already.
