Oh man can't wait to watch this after work

Saw the coral colour and had to immediately order a bottle of German orange. 😂 Looking forward to the rest of the model as the head looks great and the silver is super effective.

This was a really interesting video it is a shame about the slann but it’s very reassuring to see a high level artist go through similar troubles and errors to someone like myself, I think it actually shows that taking a break from a project and doing something new can be beneficial in the long run. You can tell the difference in the painting now you are more comfortable with the new project, looking forward to seeing how this progresses 😊

I'm feeling the same things right now mate. Nothing I've done since GD is really going the way I expected, picked some cool colour schemes but not feeling them when they hit the mini, liking some elements of projects but other elements letting it down. Even without the extra pressure of having to make videos, its not a fun feeling. That said, I know it will pass and will feel better after a few good painting sessions. Back to wins this weekend...I hope...😅

Even if I'm in the minority I'm excited to see this project going forward! You don't see too many people painting Idoneth :)

I actually had some trouble with NMM silver during the week so this video has come at a great time! Really enjoyed the temperature changes and dissecting the quite complex artwork for inspiration. I was a bit surprised when I saw your colour choices on the Slann, I thought it would be more Ochre tones like the artwork. Would rather see you happy with the result than forced and unhappy but with content, that’s for sure!

Quite frankly this is one of my favorite episodes. Not because I want to see you suffer. But because it talks a lot about post-competition demotivation, expectations, anxiety, call it what you want. And then even during editing you nearly revover on your own. Nobody talks about this part. Everybody just have picture perfect success stories. It is extremely helpful to see and hear your insights. And the best part is how you take the bold move to do bench it and do something else and it really gets you out of that mental pit and back on track. A very good lesson. Chris

While it’s not good that you’re experiencing trials and tribulations, sharing this is great teaching for us as well as being more authentic, and no-one else is producing content that gives this kind of deeper insight into process that is so valuable. Hopefully you’re able to get some joy out of it despite all the frustration. On another note, that NMM on the Idoneth is absolutely frickin’ jaw-dropping. Killer colour contrast with those wonderful shadow tones and a really interesting take on steel that I haven’t seen before that somehow manages to be pale and bright while retaining depth and richness. Can’t wait to see how this model turns out and definitely not feeling deprived in the frog department when this is happening instead! Cheers 😁👍🏻.

Really enjoyed this one. Your skin on faces is always quite simple but looks so good. Loving all the colours in fish boys helm. Do you recall the purples you tried out on fatty?

Leon

I really appreciate the honesty and your thoughts on the process, it's way more interesting than a painting tutorial! :) Idoneth are so cool, totally worth tagging along for as well.

Andy: Off topic but also kinda on topic, how do you do these quick model strips? I have had varying success with many products and usually end up with a kind of chunky surface, or a few bits of stuck paint here and there.

Dan Shaw

Absolutely stunning. I have some Idoneth sat about and this has inspired me to get them done. Painted the crab and fish ages ago and ignored the elves!
