Hi all,

I'm after some recommendations for paint storage. I've been looking at various wheeled make up/tool boxes.

Want it movable so easy to bring on classes.

Any advice much appreciated.

Cheers, Henry

EDIT: It's for 100s of paints. I have a problem. Don't judge. Sooner our range come out the better!!!

I use a cheap fishing tackle box I got on Amazon.

Mine are thrown into old trainer boxes, sorted by brand. Watching this to see what others use.

What's your budget Henry? And what are you transporting it in?

I bought a frontier wargaming box, they are very well made and have different trays for different items and are designed for traveling as well as storage.

monument hobbies make hobby bags I think. depends on how many you wanted to transport, these are pretty personal sized

I use some acrylic nail varnish cases. You can easily get 2 citadel base or layer paints in each slot and at a push two dropper bottles (although this doesn't look as tidy). There are approximately 48 compartments in each case, with one of the columns having removal compartment walls for some flexibility.

It might be a little above how much you want to spend but a small rolling trunk case like roadies use for concerts could do the trick

I've got a Keter cantilever tool box that I picked up from an Aldi middle aisle deal (but you can still buy them on their website). It's just the perfect size for brushes and tools in the very top, GW pots in the upper layer and dropper pots in the bottom. Maybe 100 paints in one toolbox. Stackable makeup setup does sound spot on for your needs though.

Funny enough I have a small apartment on a 12th floor of a building and paint at my hobby shop from time to time, I have the items listed below along with a small cart with wheels that I also bring my army that's stored in really useful boxes to play with sometimes. They're big enough to fit vallejo thick mud and able to see inside for ease. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0178M4EK4?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details

For the stuff I don't have at my desk I use a tool box with pull out draws. They can definitely hold a lot per draw.

I actually use the Shimo storage bins from Container Store: https://www.containerstore.com/s/shimo-storage-bins/d?q=plastic%20storage%20bins%20with%20lids&productId=11011398 There's various sizes, that all stack on top one another. They're semi-transparent, so you can see what's inside, but at the same time it's also slightly obscured, so it looks neater. Each box holds 60ish paints. You can pick up cheap little plastic inserts to organize different paint within the box if you want. I have 4, seperating my contrasts, oils, regular acrylics, etc. I use the lids to the boxes as "project trays" to keep in-progress builds organized. When put away on my bookshelf they look neat and tidy, and don't necessarily scream HOBBY, if you know what I mean. Ok, so for traveling, I pair this with a wheeled cart, like this: https://a.co/d/8OJV20b If you're traveling a ton maybe get a fold-up cart? Anyway, your mileage may vary ;)

Have you considered getting a couple of bandoliers draped across you with paints instead of bullets? Holsters for the paint brushes and airbrush?

Something like a scrapbooking tote may work. Plenty of storage and you can get many like a wheeled suitcase.
