Greetings, everyone.

Time for another CCC devlog.

Most of the stuff I have to share this time is pretty under the hood. Not too much visually to show off, but important stuff nonetheless.

First off, personalities have started to get re-implemented. In previous versions of CCC, there were 9 different personality types. Though that didn't really mean much aside from dialogue. This time around, I'd like personalities to affect a bit more than that. Like how they interact with food, weight, etc. But as a result of making things a little deeper, I've had to trim back on the number of included personalities to make things more manageable. So currently, the game is at 4 planned core personalities: Peppy, Apathetic, Smug, and Cool.

I've been working with Contract_Crawdad to get writing for the personalities done. They've been doing a wonderful job so far. Below are some general examples from the Apathetic personality (WIP placeholder UI).

I've also been working on getting custom dialogue sheets working again! This time around, custom sheets are using a very similar logic to the in-game dialogue sheets. I haven't made UI for that quite yet, so I can't show it visually. But hopefully I'll be able to soon.

Moving on to a couple of very important systems, shops and inventory. In the last couple versions, you probably noticed that Gretta's shop is just a tab on the side of the screen with unlimited food at your disposal. This was meant to be a temporary gameplay method. The reason everything was free was because:

A. There was no in-game method to earn currency yet.

B. There was no inventory system to actually store anything. Which is something I wasn't looking forward to building again.

But now I've finally gotten around to rebuilding the inventory system. Saving and loading works as well, as well as displaying it on the UI. So the worst of that system is out of the way, I hope. Below are some shots of the WIP that is Gretta's new shop, as well as the inventory tab. It all functionally works, but most of it is still placeholder art.

As far as in-game ways to earn currency, I'm still working on that.

The final thing I have to talk about isn't too huge, but hopefully still a noticeable improvement. I'm sure you've noticed when characters get large, the borders of their clothing get pretty blurry. I've been fiddling with the main character shader some more. Those clothing borders should look a tiny sharper now when characters grow. Below is a quick comparison. I'll see if I can make it better by fiddling with some more stuff.

That's all the progress I have to show for now. If you have any questions or suggestions, feel free to leave them in the comments. Thanks for reading!
