So many people have asked me about herpes and what’s really happening beneath the surface. What I’ve seen, time and time again, is that it’s not a transmitted disease in the way we’ve been taught; it’s something created within the body when we disconnect from our truth.

When the heart and mind fall out of alignment, the body loses its light in certain areas. That dullness, that lack of light, becomes the perfect environment for illness to grow. Herpes often appears when there’s a deep emotional conflict around intimacy, when we’ve said “yes” to something that our heart wanted to say “no” to.

It can also be connected to past sexual trauma or fear, where the body begins to associate sexuality with danger. In that case, herpes becomes a kind of protection, the body’s way of stopping us from re-entering a space that doesn’t feel safe.

True healing doesn’t come from shame or fear. It comes from understanding what your body is trying to communicate and bringing light back into the areas where you once felt powerless. When we heal the emotional and energetic roots, the body no longer needs to hold onto the symptom.

Whoa, so interesting! Totally makes sense. Like all the many forms of this so called ‘herpes’ virus, seems the most common affecting nearly everyone, is ‘mono’ or ‘the kissing disease’ as it’s nicknamed, as it’s right around the time we become interactive with others in our teenage years. And yes, doing stuff because it’s the thing to do, not exactly what we really want to do. This was a huge thing that affected my teen years and has probably carried on my entire life, because then it manifests itself (or we do) (and told) as chronic fatigue syndrome, and even shingles, if we get too stressed about a situation. Along with being told how contagious this virus is, then comes the guilt of passing it on to our children. Wow.

What about cold sores "fever blister" (herpes labialis) unrelated to sex?

This really makes so much sense. I remember reading or hearing that some men don't ever get symptoms. I always thought that didn't make any sense. Now it does.
