Ego Death

i love this video

Mary Ellen

That was helpful information. I too went through a spiritual path that encouraged ego death. Instead I learned that what was called “ego” was not a negative but was actually necessary as an interface to being here.

i love it too. spirituality "practice" is religion re-branded these days.

Laura

I loved it too. Very heart opening for me. What a great reminder

Agree. I did the ten day vipassana and I found the teachings all about refraining from sex, alcohol, etc. All preparing us for the next life time. My whole soul was like NO. We're in this 3D experience (be it through choice or prison) and so we must be conscious and enjoy the senses we can here. Like anything, it's understanding why we are doing something...being conscious! Also when being taught Reiki, Rahanni and other so called Spiritual modalities, I always followed my own technique. Now that I've been deprogrammed of these bs modalities, I'm free to heal as I know. It's far more powerful. And all through my training, I always felt like I knew already. I've been a thorn in many teachers thighs, ha! Now we know why. Thank you Becky. I've maintained my ego, I just keep it in check...like other aspects of our human condition. It's all about healthy balance ❤️

I think it’s part of the spiritual/personal learning to go though all these practices and teachings and yes I believe the ego is essential. I think people confuses the ego with the traumas, believes, programs...from which we react from. Once you’ve cleared much of it, the ego is no longer a problem, it’s just part of who you are and essential to function in the world. One of my teachers once said that when you’re no longer on a “path” an don’t need the sadhanas...this is when you have become aware of the power within. I didn’t understand back then, how can I not be on a “path”? But I get it now! I’ve learned a lot through my journey with the teachers, gurus...I don’t regret any of it, as it brought me to where I am today. They thought me to connect with my heart, release traumas...and find peace of mind. I have learned a lot, it feels like I took a long necessary walk before I found my heart again. ❤️

Im the same, i dont regret. it has definitely been a process of elimination. We have no rose tinted glasses on, we've been through the self and spiritual development conveyor belt. I now can trust myself because each teaching has shown me resistance to their teachings or reminded me of what I already knew. So literally, we've been around the world to return home and realise we always knew it all. But we needed contrast to see this....amen!

The interesting hurdle I found when travelling and healing is your mind trying not to believe that it’s real. I read a book about channeling that I found really helpful because it said that you won’t know the difference at first and you have to just go with it anyway. Once you get over the feeling of ‘I must just be imagining it’ and just let it flow anyway, you soon start to see in so many ways, how it is very definitely real!

Really enjoyed the video and it has just confirmed to me what I already felt. I heard spiritual teachers say “you need to dissolve the ego” or “transcend the ego” or “ego death” and it never resonated with me. Luckily since it didn’t resonate i never went down this path. I don’t like term ego either as i think it’s just another fancy commonly used term by the “gurus”. I always used to think “what do they even mean by that? Kill the ego? What does it mean and how does it look like?”. Also none of these teachers could even properly explain what it looks like without using “spiritual “ jargon. I started disliking term “spiritual “ too because to me it now just means false light, more deception and AI god programs.

Thank you for this Becky - I'm so glad you've done this video because for a while now, I've been feeling really iffy about a lot of people on youtube who keep talking about an "ego death", it just didn't resonate with me and now I know why. x

Alex

Great vid, loved this one.

Amanda Wilson

I resonate with this as well. The ego is there for a reason. I feel like the goal is to align with your ego in a healthy, balanced way.

Susan

Keep rambling' We do make life more complicated than it needs to be!

Michele

I don’t feel we have to have an ego death but working to resolve the negative aspects of our ego is liberating and helpful for soul evolution. Negative ego often comes from trauma and avoidance block us from accessing our inner divine truth.

I also think ego is like a tool to work with for evolving into higher states, and its a longer prosess than just drink a plant brew or get a guru.....ego works together with other human beeings and their egos, brings forth lots of instant feelings and emotions, reactions and actions and this gives us possibilities to reflect on who we are and learn how we can let go of parts of ego that goes against our purpose as humans; to create and live in love with nature and fellow beeings. So ego work can take lifetimes, its a process. When we observe our egos at work from a distance we can really get to know ourselves and question our behaviour towards others, our choices in life etc. If we work also with heart conciousness and connect to Gaia, I think we also discover that the need to feed the ego get less. That is my experience since i found out about it. Writing this I remember a text from the great russian autor (feel free to put in what you like instead of God ): " Love all God’s creation, both the whole and every grain of sand. Love every leaf, every ray of light. Love the animals, love the plants, love each separate thing. If thou love each thing thou wilt perceive the mystery of God in all; and when once thou perceive this, thou wilt thenceforward grow every day to a fuller understanding of it: until thou come at last to love the whole world with a love that will then be all-embracing and universal." Fyodor Dostoevsky, The Brothers Karamazov Can it be that in the end we are andvanced enough to live without the ego, detached from the needs of the material world, with just pure conciousness. Can this be like the state of Nirvana?

This gentleman has little heart consciousness and luckily, he still manage to have found you, Becky! His GPS is still functioning! Haha

It kind of felt like to me that the 'egoless' state of being is actually a deeper ego issue in a way, traps everywhere 😅 I have a question about travelling, what if you have proof that you're travelling but have no memory of the travels? I wouldn't have never even considered that I was until one night I was falling asleep and I got that thing where my body feels like it's falling and woke up and straight away just turned around to go back to sleep only my partner freaked and out and said a light shot into me from across the room just as my body jolted? I wonder whats going on there
