Hey folks,
if you didn't know yet we are coming to Denver, Albuquerque, Phoenix, and Las Vegas in two weeks! I got a couple pieces of good advice this week and a band my household has recently become obsessed with.
- Gentle Giant - Funny Ways - A group of prog rock multi instrumentalists from the 70's who are trying to just make music that sounds good. Some Street Fighters turned me on to them. This shit starts a little goofy initially but once he sings "My ways are strange" stuff you're in for a 7 minute ride through the sky. Gentle Giant is for people who like lots of instruments, Joanna Newsom fans, strong and sultry guitar licks, nudists, Yes stans, and probably a lot of Ren Fair type of people.
- Eating peanut butter and jelly for dinner. It's fucking great. I sometimes get overwhelmed and I feel like I need to make a dinner each night and it has to meet some minimum level of standards. All worthless thoughts when I could just make PB&J and be done with it. If everyone else isn't disappointed by it then why should I be? Pairs great with carrots, the delicious vegetable that doesn't need to be cooked.
- Taste app - It's an app that lets you rate movies and tv with 4 simple ratings and then it recommends movies to you. Why do I like it? Because it will tell you the top recommended movies or TV shows for you on Netflix, Hulu, Amazon prime, and HBO go.
- Be your barbers first appointment. At the beginning of the day they got extra time, and by the end of the day they are trying to play catch up from the extra time they took earlier in the day. If you want to look your best go first thing in the morning.
- The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly - I last watched this movie 20 years ago and wow has my life changed lol. I really enjoyed this as an older guy. The music and the visuals are excellent but the trio of Lee Van Cleef, Eli Wallach, and Clint Eastwood is just phenomenal and the pacing of this 3 hour endeavor is absolute perfection. Now I can't wait to be a grandpa watching the western channel and drinking green vitality smoothies.
