Happy Pride weekend,
Hope your week went well. Lexington was amazing last night. The place was sold out and The Trillbillies killed it. Audio will be coming soon. The Columbus show is happening on Friday 6/28 and ComFest is happening the next day so it's a wonderful time to visit. We also added a discounted $14 option for the Guys & Gals & Non-Binary Pals tee for those of you on a limited budget. You can also assist a Street Fighter by selecting "Comrade Tee" and paying $14 towards their shirt. Taking pre-orders until the end of the month.
- Carol - The first part of this movie has one of the most subdued and scintillating encounters I have seen on film. It will give you chills. The outcome of these two women falling in love and the path it takes is just brilliant. The beginning is such a satisfying slow burn that leads to the sparks flying that incinerate the lives they knew before. Extremely understated, expertly made.
- This hilarious email I got - “I've got a metric story for you. I used to work for a regional grocery chain. My crew was great at slinging stock, and we worked well together. Eventually, some corporate shithead got it in their head that we'd work so much faster if we were working against each other. They wanted us to start keeping a piece count and bought us a whiteboard with our names on it so we could shame the slowest stocker. The target piece rate wasn't too high compared to what we could do, it was 50 per hour if I'm remembering correctly. But they called a case a case whether it was a single bag of dog food or a case of 24 canned vegetables. So some of us were pulling case rates in the high hundreds if we worked dog food or water packs. Problem was that the store manager thought we were fudging numbers and chewed our asses for just doing our jobs. We just started writing random numbers between 45 and 60 and he started praising us for hitting the numbers. Eventually, the corporate shitheads moved on to something else and we just stopped keeping track of the piece counts and they'd bring it up from time to time but never really did anything about it.”
- Ibotta - This is a digital coupon app. If you're not shopping at Aldi then they probably have your grocery store on here. You can even link your loyalty card to save automatically. The great thing about Ibotta is a lot of times the items in the app they are pushing will also be discounted at the store. So when some new yogurt comes out Ibotta will offer a $1 off but it will also be 2/$4 or some other intro price. Don't rip yourself off by paying more to save a little but there is a lot of money to be saved on here. Plus you can save money on beer and wine and liquor. I am over $600 at this point. Use my referral code, qigpqil, to get more money when you sign up.

- Loqueesha episode of Minion Death Cult with Leslie Lee III - I know I sweat this podcast too much but they deliver all the Facebook comments I need to survive. The breakdown of the movie Loqueesha by Tony and Alexander is the definitive reporting on it and Leslie is such a thoughtful and poignant thinker who is a true iconoclast. I was very surprised listening to this episode.
- Erykah Badu - 20 Feet Tall -I like to look up live versions of songs that I love and came upon this. Truly incredible. My wife and I saw her in Dallas around this time and I can’t wait to see her again someday. New Amerykah Part Two (Return of the Ankh) is the favorite album. She is basically royalty in our household.
I am trying to come up with new categories of things to recommend and possibly answer questions. Comment below if you got any ideas or you can email me questions and funny boss anecdotes at Brett@streetfightradio.com
Peace
