High Five Friday - 7/26/2019 (Patreon)

Hey there! Hope y'all are excited for the shows this week! Follow along on social media for behind the scenes antics. We got a really cool guest for Saturday August 3rd.

• Cut popsicles in half - When you got kids and they're fighting over flavors, instead of cutting the tip off, make them split the last two colors.  I have also convinced them this counts as two popsicles now.

• Vega protein and greens - My favorite powder. 20 grams of plant protein, sweetened with stevia, and it's got the greens. The chocolate one tastes like cake better 

• Just because you think it, doesn’t make it true - It’s common to have a negative thought about the way you look, your career path, what time you went to bed, your fitness routine, a choice you made, etc. Don’t let it become common for it to take you down. There are flaws, failings, and flub-ups in everything we do. If no one is calling you bad at your job or hideously ugly or sucky as a friend there is no reason for you to be having these thoughts. 

So the next time you think, “I am bad/failure/phony/insignificant/worthless because _____”, 

1. Acknowledge it as a thought one could have, and then 
2. Cup your hands together like you can feel the dense weight of this little evil spirit captured in your palms like a baseball.
3. Crank your arm back and pitch that shitty thought over the flat horizon. 

You aren’t doing yourself a favor or “being honest” when it means constantly tearing yourself down. There IS a limit to it. Learn your lesson and move on. 

• All I Want - Joni Mitchell - She really goes the fuck off emotionally here. The whole thing is a swirling wind of truths and opposing thoughts of enjoying things and going where the current takes you.  Making sense of the world while getting swept up in it.  It's a dope jam.

• King Of The Monsters  - Neo-Geo really spoke to me as a kid, and SNK is the brand that makes almost all the games I love. I even had the neo geo pocket color in high school. So because I still got Godzilla on the brain this game came to mind. It's available on all rom sites and also the Switch eshop. I just love the way this game FEELS. The weight of the monsters, the bounciness of the rope like power lines, and the beats of the power slams. The whole match here feels like a 16 bit version of Shivas cosmic dance, once you lock it in and the destruction settles. Big monster wrestling mayhem that hasn't been rivaled yet. Check it out!
