  • Speed Racer (2008) - Watched this the other night after the show and it is better than ever. It is still one of the best live adaptations of an illustrated or animated medium I’ve seen. The 20th Century Boys movies were great but it was a real life thing. Speed Racer aimed at putting real people inside of a cartoon. It’s tense, colorful, and a whole bucket of fun. The goodies are good and the baddies are bad. Easy to root for and ripe with moments of silly joy. It’s a Hot Wheels TV with John Goodman and Susan Sarandon. Watch it and enjoy! What is your favorite comic or cartoon adaptation to live action?

  • Kelsey Lu - Blood - Extremely talented vocalist and cellist who hit the mainstream this year at boutique gyms and on spotify summer sunshine playlists with a Skrillex remix of her song. Kinda reminds me of the Aloe Blacc situation, someone who I listened to extensively for years, who then became an international star when Avicii put that Swedish dance pop poison all over his vocals. Blood is an excellent album for waking up to on Sunday. The strings wind and bend slowly. The lyrics allow you to disassociate and visualize the character in the songs. It’s a very relaxing listen that is wholly enjoyable. It never gets as loud and fast as that remix but songs like Poor Fake get in the pocket of a smooth disco beat and it’s a blast. There is also a bone-chilling rendition of “I’m Not In Love” by 10cc. For people who like Lana, sleepy morning sex, Solange, a heart full of beautiful sadness, Joanna, adorable pastries, Esperanza, body jewelry, Fiona, physical poetry books, and Kate.

  • Human Fall Flat - This is an indie game from a few years back that is on every platform now. It’s a physics game and that isn’t because its a math homework game. It’s a game that attempts to recreate the gravity and feel of our world. You play as a little rag doll that can grab and move things to find your way through each level. It’s more frustrating to jump and maneuver than a mario game but also more rewarding. Thinking through each problem ahead of you requires contemplating weight, position, angle of attack, and all the other stuff you’d need to think about to make it to the next obstacle. Losing is also enjoyable because seeing a little rag doll fly off a cliff or get smashed id always hilarious. Stick with it, seems simple at first, but I have been glued all the way to it waiting to see what happens next.

  • “The best portion of a good person's life is their little, nameless, unremembered acts of kindness and of love.” - William Wordsworth

  • A Replacement For Your Vape Cart - So there is currently some hysteria over illegal vape carts right now, and vitamin e oil making people sick. These are the same ones that are available around here. I am moving back to the Pax because it works just as well, and even though it takes a lot more effort and smells worse (this will help), so I would rather go that route. The Pax3 is still very expensive, but I found a bootleg one on Wish a few years back for $70 and out of curiosity I bought it. You can’t use the app with it but the thing works just as well. I keep one on the charger and then swap it out when needed. I do not prefer one over the other. It’s my favortie design and the most portable solution to getting quality vapor from your bud. I do not recommend it all for oils or concentrate.

Speed Racer - Trailer in (iHD)

From writer/directors Larry and Andy Wachowski, the creators of the groundbreaking "The Matrix" trilogy, and producer Joel Silver comes the live-action, high-octane family adventure "Speed Racer." Hurtling down the track, careening around, over and through the competition, Speed Racer (Emile Hirsch) is a natural behind the wheel. Born to race cars, Speed is aggressive, instinctive and, most of all, fearless. His only real competition is the memory of the brother he idolized—the legendary Rex Racer—whose death in a race has left behind a legacy that Speed is driven to fulfill. Speed is loyal to the family racing business, led by his father, Pops Racer (John Goodman), the designer of Speed's thundering Mach 5. When Speed turns down a lucrative and tempting offer from Royalton Industries, he not only infuriates the company's maniacal owner (Roger Allam) but uncovers a terrible secret—some of the biggest races are being fixed by a handful of ruthless moguls who manipulate the top drivers to boost profits. If Speed won't drive for Royalton, Royalton will see to it that the Mach 5 never crosses another finish line. The only way for Speed to save his family's business and the sport he loves is to beat Royalton at his own game. With the support of his family and his loyal girlfriend, Trixie (Christina Ricci), Speed teams with his one-time rival—the mysterious Racer X (Matthew Fox)—to win the race that had taken his brother's life: the death-defying, cross-country rally known as The Crucible. Slated for release on May 9, 2008, "Speed Racer" marks the Wachowski brothers' first writing/directing collaboration since "The Matrix" movies. Joel Silver, who previously worked with the Wachowskis on "The Matrix" movies and "V For Vendetta," is producing the film under his Silver Pictures banner. The film stars Emile Hirsch ("Alpha Dog") as Speed, Christina Ricci ("Black Snake Moan") as Trixie, Matthew Fox (TV's "Lost") as Racer X, and Oscar winner Susan Sarandon ("Dead Man Walking") and John Goodman ("Evan Almighty") as Mom and Pops Racer. Rounding out the main cast are Australian actor Kick Gurry ("Spartan") as Sparky; Paulie Litt (TV's "Hope & Faith") as Spritle; Roger Allam ("The Queen," "V For Vendetta") as Royalton; and Asian music star Ji Hoon Jung (popularly known as Rain), making his major feature film debut as a rival driver. Based on the classic series created by anime pioneer Tatsuo Yoshida, the live-action "Speed Racer" will showcase the kind of revolutionary visual effects and cutting-edge storytelling that have become the benchmarks of the Wachowski brothers' films. "Speed Racer" is a Warner Bros. Pictures presentation, in association with Village Roadshow Pictures, of a Silver Pictures Production. A BlackTree Media Production Thank you for watching!
