Howdy,

It's time for another High Five, video or text version. You decide! So, the owners are ready to force everyone back to work, and if you’ve got some good PPP emails you can always send us an email or message on social media. I wasn’t doing so well at the end of last month but I am out of my funk for now. I am hoping to keep everything on track but I am working one day at a time. We are using project management software now and it’s making the content production run a lot smoother so far. I also got a number y’all can text if you want, it’s 614-467-8972, reach out for any reason, I will be sending some messages back occasionally, no sales stuff.

  • House Party App - Quarantine has been a great way to catch up with friends and video chat more than ever. I have a few video meetings for work and my daughters school but Houseparty is an app that’s great when you’re bored. You sign in and it will alert people you’re around. You can even wave at your friends to see if they want to talk. It’s a bit more actively social than a planned out hang but if you’re bored and looking to chat it’s great. You can also see any active chats and jump right in. The limit is 8 and it has caused some interesting friend mashups. Add me on there I’m @Brettpain, we’ll see if I regret this lol.

  • Slave To The Grind - I gave Tracy shit when he called in with a recommendation for some sludgy metal to me because I’m a speed freak. I do love the Thou Ragana split a lot though. So when I found out this documentary was on Youtube for free I was excited. It covers a very specific niche of metal called Grindcore, which revolves around this type of drumming called a blast beat combined with extremely loud and aggressive overdriven guitars and more. It’s punk on speed and it’s a pretty damn intense sound when executed by bands like Napalm Death, Brutal Truth, Nasum, and more. I did enjoy headbanging along to this and I really enjoyed the way the artists talked openly about their music coming from punk roots and more specifically the left-wing radical political type. I have made a lot of assumptions about metal being something closed off or angry but the more I investigate I see metalheads consider themselves outcasts and identify with music that is mostly about the suffering and pain of others. It’s also interesting as a scene report because they feature the band Anal Cunt extensively. Their singer and the rest of the gang got off on doing 4 chan type edgelord humor in their performances and lyrics. I don’t condone or celebrate that band but when you start dealing in a scene made on extremes, it opens the window for that kind of shit to. It’s nice to see other bands and folks in the scene discuss that issue as well. Overall it was wonderful and if you like fast music you should give it a shot.

  • Asmodee Humble Bundle - This is only good for 10 more days but it’s an incredible selection of board games to jump into. Splendor and Potion Explosion have been the new hit in our house. Beware though because it’s only $12 for like 10 games but Love Letter was so much fun I bought the retail game. Small World Carcassone and Mysterium are included as well. The AI is fun and the online ain’t bad. Add me on Steam.

  • The Game - This is a classic. One of the greatest dumbass movies I have seen in a while. I remember the VHS cover from way back and I never made the plunge. The whole movie is a wonderful trick and a really enticing story that gets its hooks in you. The character is getting fucked with and the viewer is too and it’s all great. Don’t look it up just watch it and enjoy!

  • The Olive Garden Italian Dressing - I am enjoying a new suburban-style of living since buying a home, and now I love Costco. I’m sure Bryan would be going nuts at the cost but $10 for a big gulp cup full of pesto, the raps spaghetti sauce , seltzer, that lays a month is worth it. Well, Olive Garden dressing is something that hits like McDonald's French fries. I am very close to just measuring out a serving size in a shot glass and getting a little boost during the day.

Peace,

Brett

Loved the video version! And yeah, The Game is a classic VHS movie, watched it a billion times back when I was a kid. Great stuff, hope you're all doing well!

If you're getting into some grind you need to check out Cattle Decapitation and Nails. Start with Monolith of Inhumanity and Abandon All Life, respectively.

Thumbs up for the vlog! This might be too much trouble for Jake, but it would be cool if an image of the thing you're currently discussing appeared in the logo box in the right hand corner of the video.

I really needed that board game advice. I got a bunch of shit from like the GOT card and boards and Elder Signs type stuff. Really want like Catan and some other shit.
