Some quick fan art for a recent danmei novel I read, called Jealous in Nature! It's one of those stories that get you really frustrated but oddly addicting at the same time. Or maybe that's just the type of toxic book I get into lol

These are all full high res png files, so just right click and download if you want to use these as backgrounds or anything you like.

Anyway it was a good exercise for me to practice male torso anatomy and lighting for muscles. This took far less time than it would have a year ago, so I think I've improved! I vaguely understand how lighting plays on muscles and skin now, where to lighten and where to darken, etc.

I redrew the exact same image in a different style - my favourite "watercolour/calligraphy" style. It didn't turn out as well as I liked because... it kinda looks like one of those pinterest AI art styles that also imitates watercolour! :( I know it's not quite possible anymore these days but I'd like to have a style that makes it hard for AI to completely imitate.

And the last one is just sweet little fan art of a beautiful and kind of tragic scene near the end of the novel. It's a happy ending!!! Very happy, but still heartwrenching in a way. I don't often draw this watercolour style with background elements, and I think I should start practicing that to make it more versatile.

That was a long ramble. I don't have time or space to talk about my thinking process with my art on my social media, but patreon is the perfect place. Thank you for reading all this way!!!

I like your pseudo-watercolor style! I don't think it looks like AI at all. And I'm especially fond of the third image and how it all comes together ♡

Oooh, I've had this one on my to-read list for a while, I guess this is a sign to finally start reading it! Absolutely lovely art (both are great but I especially love the second picture- such a lovely atmosphere.)
