One cheat I've found for wings is to draw a bunch of ||||||| lines like that in succession, to imply the direction of feathers without drawing all the feathers. Figuring out that wings have a basic shape and set of parts to them, any kind of wings become really easy to draw. 

You'll see that for all these sketches, you can see I divided them all into a basic set of shapes before filling in the |||| lines.
