The show doesn’t really highlight the little things that Shimizu does for the team. You see in this episode how the managers kinda set up the place to host another school. She helped when they got the jackets and the jerseys, it’s likely that she was the one who had to make sure that the sizes were adjusted properly for the team members. During matches, Shimizu usually keeps track of the stats of the game, like who’s scoring how often the team uses certain people. They do show a little bit more of that briefly this season. She also was the one that designed the uhh not so great posters to recruit people to the club, but like Yachi has a designer for a mom and was much more suited to the task. Even the smaller things like just helping hand out water during breaks or timeouts in matches. It’s kinda just a constant support to lessen everyone else’s load. Since she’s pretty reserved, a lot of what she does kinda flies under the radar, especially when they focus on her looks so much more than her actions. From the scene where Shimizu and Yachi are talking in the changing room, you can really tell that Shimizu values the team and takes pride in being part of it. This isn’t me trying to like counteract ur hate for the glazing or anything, that’s valid. Sometimes a running joke hits, sometimes it doesn’t and I get it, I feel like it does a disservice to her character sometimes. Just wanted to point out her role a bit since the show doesn’t too much.
