Also Ennoshita’s and Yamaguchi’s stories and arcs do tend to feel emotional because of how commonplace and relatable their issues are. Even if they take a backseat most of the time, the bench players are all people who also train day in and day out to improve just live everyone else, and have their own shortcomings that we get to watch them overcome (most of them anyways).

Ennoshita's backstory is so damn real. Hell, basically everything in this series is so damn real. Also Idk if you'll be like me, but its crazy how this anime never ceases to make me emotional and sometimes on the verge of tears for something so seemingly normal as volleyball. After every rewatch of this anime gets me even more emotional despite knowing what happens so idk what's wrong with me tbh lmao.
