yessirrrr peakkkkk!! this is for sure my favorite episode in the show and the final rally is def my favorite moment in the show. tsukki narrating after the match is peak storytelling bc he was the one who originally told hinata that speed was a curse, which was how they lost at the end of s1. the twins using the quick in that moment and kageyama and hinata blocking them was just poetry in motion.. such a beautiful show man brings tears to my eyes🥹🔥🔥

This episode is just full of full circle moments it’s insane, so much payoff in one episode. Oikawa coming up every five minutes was crazy glaze tho (he’s the goat so I don’t blame you). So so much happened.

The biggest thing has to be the end of the last rally, with Hinata and Kageyama blocking the quick. Tsukki brought it up how “speed is powerful but not invincible, those two knew that a bit better than everyone else,” just to summarize. And yeah, bc the twins lost in the same exact way that Karasuno lost to seijoh in season 1. Like even if you remember, I recommend watching both again back to back. Hinata and kageyamas block here is quite literally showing their growth and maturity from depending on speed so much, just amazing writing.

Not to mention the Hinata “take it easy moment,” his growth in season 4 is one of my favorite things in this entire series, it’s so rewarding to watch. Also him digging Suna’s quick after tsukki funneled the ball with the block, Hinata was making big moves at the end of this set.

Omimi doing that weird receive you mentioned actually is something you see in haikyuu a lot. Before passing, the defenders call the ball and put their arms out to create space around them. By doing both, you’re verbally and physically signaling that you will be under the ball to make the next move, so it’s just a communication thing.

Literally everyone was making crazy plays during the end and I’d love to talk about each one but I’m already yapping, so I’ll just talk about tsukki’s dive near the end. You mentioned it too, and it’s so nice to see how invested and passionate he is now, great stuff.

Funny enough, a lot of the parts that look weird are very manga accurate. It definitely looks goofy sometimes (I was so sure you’d mention it in the last point) but as an adaptation it’s quite faithful, maybe a bit too much here. On that note after you watch the movie, I’d recommend reading the manga. After you post that one I’ll probably mention it again, but the manga is 11/10 it’s incredible, the storytelling is even more complete in the manga since no content or context is cut. This story is truly well crafted and full of love and passion, cannot recommend it enough. If you don’t have time tho that also makes sense, there’s a lot to do in life, just wanted to present the idea.

I think one of my lowkey favorite parts of this final point that i dont see much people talk about are the reactions of Kenma and Kuro. They aren't surprised or hyped like everyone else but instead they look like they've realized their time has finally come. The dumpster battle that they've long awaited is finally on the horizon and they're coming to terms with that in the moment. Also I love how instead of them traditionally winning off a spike, in this case they won off a block. It really is peak storytelling with the parallels between Karasuno and Seijoh's first match down to the exact same words Atsumu said. It truly only could be Hinta and Kageyama who could've blocked that attack. Man I love Haikyuu and it will forever be my favorite sports anime.

yeah, I definitely need to check out the manga after this match specifically because I know they cut out a lot of stuff and they will continue to do so for the next movie. I've watched so many reactions of this show in its entirety and I love it more each time. I just know the manga is peak.
