When they had that shadowed silhouette of a bunch of Classics winners, the one on the left is Yaeno Muteki (the Uma that kind looks like a Street Fighter character) and the other one missed is Mr. CB (The 3rd Triple Crowner winner).

55:55 they did show her forgetting about her sister during the race though, as far as im aware

For your thoughts on Ayabe, you are not alone. She is a rather polarizing character in RTTT, as people either seem to like her the most or dislike her a lot. That said, her personality here is pretty accurate to real life (more details below). Trivia/Real Life Details ----------------------- Oguri 18:00 Unlike when she randomly showed up in seasons 1-3, Oguri actually does have a connection to Opera O. I won't explain why yet though. While they didn't show it in the anime, she also shares this connection with Kitasan, which you might find interesting. ----------------------- Opera O's Title The Conqueror of Century's End/Centurial Overlord was Opera O's real title, and based on a character from Fist of the North Star. ----------------------- Ayabe's Twin Yeah, the story about the twin is real. Apparently it is often dangerous to the mare and can result in either both twins dying or being really weak, so only keeping one is a common practice. ----------------------- Wada Ryuji Apparently Opera O's personality is heavily based on that of his jockey, Wada Ryuji. He was famously hated by Doto, with a common theory being that Doto thought T.M. Opera O was Wada's name. Doto would hear the name whenever his team was sad, so he associated the jockey with those negative emotions. The two horses apparently got along pretty well though. This video shows Doto, a normally calm horse, interacting with Wada. https://youtu.be/nL7NZ-5Ltjw?t=843 Wada received a lot of criticism as a jockey because he could not win any G1 races after racing with Opera O. Many people even said that he held Opera O back and that he could have won the Triple Crown with a different jockey. At Opera O's retirement ceremony, he stated that his goal was to become a jockey worthy of him. After visiting Opera O later on, he swore to Opera O that he would only come back to visit him after winning a G1 (a lot of people dispute this fact, but even the Japanese sources I can find corroborate this). In 2018, Opera O died before he could fulfill this promise, and just a month later, he finally won the Takarazuka Kinen with Mikki Rocket, 17 years after his last G1. Unfortunately, the video I got this story from does not have subtitles, as I think it is from a Japanese TV program. It may have some minor spoilers for things that happen offscreen during Beginning of a New Era. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gsFBG590NWI ----------------------- Opera O's Public Perception Unfortunately, Opera O was a widely hated horse in real life. There were multiple reasons for this, including unreasonable things like having a bad pedigree or just "looking ugly" due to his color and weird proportions. People would throw rocks at him and boo him, and one person even snuck into his stables to shave his mane. It was arguably even worse than the treatment towards Rice. ----------------------- Derby Placement Distance 52:34 You are correct, it says "kubi", which translates to neck. ----------------------- Ayabe's Personality In real life, Ayabe would apparently grow very violent when other horses were around and would only train alone, hence why she is so reluctant to be around others. Ayabe staying out late at night is also taken from real life, as he would apparently graze at night. ----------------------- Ayabe's connection with the number 6 This isn't really relevant to RTTT, but I thought it was funny. Apparently, Ayabe was associated with the number 6 because he won the Derby on 6/6, he placed 6th in the Satsuki Sho and Kikuka Sho, his jockey (Take) had the code 666, and he achieved a time of 66.6 seconds in training. ----------------------- Ayabe's Leg In real life, Ayabe had to retire after the Kikuka Sho due to inflammation in his ligaments. He died early at the age of 8 after producing multiple G1 winning offspring. 1:44:34 I think that it is implied that her sister took on the fate of the injured leg during the scene during the race. While the show stays accurate to things that happen during their real life careers, everything that comes after is generally kept open ended for things to end differently (ex. Suzuka). ----------------------- Opera O slapping Top Road Apparently this actually did happen, as another jockey slapped Topro's jockey's butt to get him to calm his nerves before a race. I don't think it was Opera O's jockey though.

1:21:09 The closest thing I can think of is there's a clip on YouTube of the IRL Cheval Grand's trainer assistant being interviewed back in 2017 for the Japan Cup where he mentioned that their goal is to beat Kitasan Black, and shortly after Cheval Grand nods in agreement lol.
