--------------------- Fuji Kiseki and Pokke’s connection Both horses had the same jockey, trainer, stable hand, and owner. Some people even joked that Fuji was Pokke’s real father. --------------------- Hopeful Stakes The Hopeful Stakes was actually a G3 race in 2000. The name was also different. --------------------- Fuji Kiseki’s Record Fuji Kiseki was actually very similar to Tachyon, winning 4 races and retiring. However, Fuji did not manage to make it to the Classics, instead ending at the Yayoi Sho. --------------------- Opera O’s Arima Kinen Before the race, Opera O hit his head on something and had internal bleeding/swelling as a result, most likely the reason for the rocks hitting her head in the race. The real race was just like in the movie, as Opera O was surrounded by other horses and broke through. His jockey, Wada Ryuji, said that he had already given up on the race but that Opera O found his way through on his own. He said on multiple occasions that he did not feel like he was worthy of being his jockey, and that his goal was to reach that level. With this victory, Opera O won both Tenno Shos, both Grand Prix (Takarazuka + Arima) and the Japan Cup in one year, in addition to 3 G2s. It is one of the most dominant performances in Japanese horse racing history. ---------------------. Tosen Jordan’s relationship with Pokke Jordan is Pokke’s son in real life. Both were strong on the Tokyo racecourse, a trait shared with other descendants of Tony Bin (Pokke’s father). --------------------- Digital and Tachyon’s relationship 58:24 They do not seem to be related. They just had the same owner. --------------------- Tsurugi Ryoka 1:03:13 That is Tsurugi Ryoka, an NPC for a future scenario. The Uma next to her is Sonon Elfie, from the same scenario. --------------------- Dantsu Flame and Manhattan Cafe While I also would have liked to see more from them, their major races take place after the movie, excluding the Kikuka Sho. Dantsu Flame in particular has a very sad story involving his greedy owner, who pushed him to the point of getting sick with pneumonia and dying in an attempt to squeeze a bit more money out of him after he was supposed to have retired. --------------------- Derby Commentary The beginning of a new era line is taken straight from the real commentary of the race. The full line includes the fact that Pokke was a domestic bred horse, as it proved that Japanese bred horses could still compete with the foreign imported horses. --------------------- Jungle Pocket’s Derby Roar The roaring to the sky after the Derby did happen. There are many theories as to why, with the most realistic being that he was startled by the crowd. Other, much more unlikely theories include it being a victory roar or, like in the movie, frustration at being unable to surpass Tachyon. --------------------- Pokke’s Losses 1:27:29 Pokke did indeed lose the Sapporo Kinen (3rd) and Kikuka Sho (4th) in between the Derby and Japan Cup. --------------------- Cafe’s Imaginary Friend Cafe’s friend is implied to be the ghost of Sunday Silence, the father to Cafe, Tachyon, Spe, Suzuka, etc.. Cafe was said to look exactly like him, to the point that Cafe was used as a stand in when a film about Sunday Silence was made. --------------------- Doto beating Opera O 1:47:52 By this point Doto had actually already beat Opera O at the Takarazuka Kinen of the same year.

Manhattan Cafe's "imaginary friend" is heavily implied to be Sunday Silence, the greatest sire in japanese horse racing history, since Cafe irl looked exactly like him. It's also implied that the other Umas can see the "friend" sometimes, so it's more like an actual ghost.

Sad to see legends fall short due to injuries before reaching their peak, just thinking about how things would have been different if they had still continued running.

At this point you can watch Pyrrhixz's vids on Agnes Tachyon, Fuji Kiseki, and Manhattan Cafe without spoilers. You could also watch TM Opera O's one for the most part, but there is a minor spoiler for Cinderella Gray's 1st cour. To add to what asdf noted, by the time Jungle Pocket races in the Japan Cup, Opera O's streak was already broken by other racers like Doto and even Agnes Digital. The movie didn't make that super clear though tbh.

Dantsu Flame is too damn girly cute in this and I love it
