Still waiting (Patreon)

Well! It's Monday and I still have yet to receive MonsterChow's sound design. I'm really sorry that things keep dragging on like this, especially since I had planned to have everything released by now. From what it sounded like he seemed to be pretty far in and it's soon done, so here's hoping the film will finally be ready to be posted before this weekend.

Things are taking a bit longer than planned and I feel pretty bad for keeping everyone waiting, for this reason I've started working on a second bonus sequence in form of another alternative camera angle. Here's hoping this will somehow compensate the many additional days of waiting time.

If I get this sequence rendered before the sound design arrives here then it will be bundled with the 15$ package right away. If I get the sound design before that, then I'll of course get the main film out first and post this additional bonus clip later on. I know the waiting is quite a stretch, but I hope that under this prospect you can bare with me for a few more days. ;-;

You should make the bonus scene acessable to all patrons

lol cake you are so lovely

Please take your time, Cake. People need to learn to have patience. I'd like to see anyone giving you a hard time even attempt what you do. I appreciate every second you put into this and would rather you take your time and do it right than rush it out and cut corners. Thanks, Cake!

Perhaps to avoid the waiting next time you could give him an early render version of the video so he has something to work with? (like without all the fur and neat effects) If you've already done something like this, then don't pay any mind to me.

Harvey White

I'm just waiting for a meme to be made about your delays. Please don't shoot me.

Blaze

I completely understand the delays. I would rather have something delayed over and over again to achieve a certain quality of a product/art piece than to have it rushed out unfinished.

Salty

suffer :D

Moar gifz and we're even. ...I'm joking, ofc. Thanks for keeping us posted, Cake. It's always nice to be informed. :)

Cynoce

Worth the wait I think.^^

Spacemoustik

At least we have Rogue One to wait a little bt longer :)

Ojikori

I'm still incredibly excited to see this!

MisterMikeBison

You know what they say, good things come to those who wait

This one is going to be great! We can all wait a few days for it. I'd consider it an early Christmas gift for the patreons. lol

ZakuraTech

A Halloween animation in January then?

@CakeInferno: Do you think the animation will be done before the holiday? Or is this going to be more of a holiday gift to all of us? Either way I don't personally mind. Just seeing if there is a known time frame. Keep up the awesome work no matter what!

pepperbunny

So... any idea on a estimated timeframe?

CakeInferno

Been exchanging some notes with Monsterchow who showed me a work in progress on the sound design, which by now seems about 80% completed. While the progress is solid I've sadly been told that it won't be finalized this weekend. I have to admit that at this point I considered doing it myself, but even if I started now I wouldn't get it done before MonsterChow. It's a tough situation since I know my patrons are waiting, I'll try to at least put out two more playblasts this weekend and make them available for all patrons this time. Hopefully it won't be too much longer from here. I furthermore apologize still making everyone wait. Running this is still a learning experience for me, especially in terms of distributing my resources. Having gone from zero to sixty (or rather, 3000) in just a few months still has me staggering a bit in terms of communication work. Furthermore I probably won't outsource the sound design anymore and take things back into my own hands for future work. This way I can at least give better estimations and have better conscience regarding my posting schedule.

Grinz

thank you for the update, keep up the good work.

Tesla-The-Tiger

Just out of curiosity, how come you outsourced sound design anyway?

CakeInferno

Just got another update from MonsterChow! He mentioned having two free days ahead, which he's going to use to work on this. Here's hoping that we'll have the finalized sound design by the end of the week! (:

Ojikori

Sad its still not avaiable but honestly its great to get constant updates. Still very excited to see and hear the finished project. Keep at it Cake!

I agree. Cake's willingness to wait until something is the best it can be is a rare trait among artist and entertainment industries these days. Many of them push things out the door too soon so the quality isn't always the best. Glad that people like Cake still want to make good art and also ensure it's quality is something that isn't a let down. Thank you Cake for doing the right thing instead of rushing it. I personally appreciate that sort of artistic moral. It's very admirable.

CakeInferno

Update: I'm aware that I can't expect people to be patient any longer, and since I haven't got a message from Monsterchow yet, I've requested him to send me the work in progress sound design version he's been working on. My plan is to finalize the sound design in an all nighter myself today, so I'll be able to hopefully post the animation tomorrow evening. Here's hoping I'll have the unfinished version from Monsterchow in a few hours at least, I'll keep you updated!

Blaze

I'll be waiting as well. :)

CakeInferno

Phew... just received the audio work! Going to do some quick edits and encode the files. Few hours from here!

only a matter of time before we see masterpiece c:

Patreon! Why? Just why? Deleting my comment from yesterday didn't also delete the string of replies. So now it still has to show that my comment existed and that I regretted it. Patreon's format really sucks in a lot of ways. Like that problem that if I try to make a new paragraph the comment gets posted before I could finish or reread over it...
