This is a choose your own adventure featuring Emily Lockwood. For the first time ever this adventure is told entirely in the first person! Emily is being interviewed and you get to choose what happens as she describes seven adventures. She's been through seven unique adventures and you get to choose how each one of them goes.

It's been one year since the siege of Greenfield Academy. The hero of that story left to start a new life and to finally become the detective she'd always dreamed of being. In this months edition of the Detectives Digest we will finally discover what became of the former schoolgirl. Did she succeed in living out her dreams? How is her relationship with the once villainous Tommy Hart? Find out the answers to these questions and many more in our feature interview with Emily Lockwood!

This is a very different CYOA. I've never read one like this, where the adventure is all in the past and you don't actually play as Emily. Separating the reader from the peril like that reduces a lot of the thrill, I think. Especially since you know that no matter the danger (or your choices), Emily will escape to tell the tale. Glad you gave us something new to try though! Will future stories go back to the regular format?

Tommy is my favorite villain so this chapter was a pleasant surprise. Looks like he has learned from that trying to defeat her was a mistake, but took the wrong lesson from it. I'm sad his development was an act, but I did miss him as a bad guy. I do hope she can rebound from this, although I do love the situation she is in now. Imagine the reaction of younger Emily would be to where her present day self. This is essentially her living out a canonical bad ending for a year. It will be interesting to have her skills be rusty in her next adventure. Tommy obviously orchestrated all her failures since he was the one picking the jobs. It would be interesting if our interviewer character showed up in the next story to either help or hinder her based on how we choose his response to the emotional abuse. My only complaint is like Vesper said that we are used to directing Emily's actions so it didn't feel as meaningful when failure is guaranteed. But I see the greater purpose of this story in establishing the new storyline. Emily is the underdog again and she has to take out the big bad directing Tommy.

I actually really liked this new type of story, getting a second(third?) person perspective on Emily’s perils was cool

I loved it! You’ve made me despise tommy even more afetr what he’s done to Emily. It’s like what he did to his mother. I also like all the hints you had where Tommy chose all of the cases in fact I think he made up those cases or told the criminals all about Emily so she would not succeed. It’s obvious Emily has been hypnotized I think she was hypnotized afetr each case as her will got weaker and weaker. I loved all the knockouts. As for the new style I love it! And I wouldn’t mind another story being done like this. I do prefer the bad endings but this is amazing as well. So does this mean we’ll be playing as hypnotized Emily Lockwood? That sounds incredible. Although I do have on question. Has Lynda Lockwood not noticed what has happened to her daughter? Also I hope we get to see how Emily was hypnotized. I’m excited ^^

This is the first CYOA I ever read after signing up for your Patreon, and it was a blast! The writing kept me deeply invested in Emily's safety. I was rooting for her in addition to rooting for Tommy, haha. The story has the perfect amount of detail for readers to visualize Emily's predicament. I look forward to reading the rest of Emily's adventures. Especially her future interactions with Tommy!
