This was created as a commission. I really like the design and I think I did a decent job with this longer hair for once! 

This was my first "flats" commission funnily enough. That just means that I didn't add any shading to the character.

Aww thanks so much! I think it's mostly about the struggles of getting to the end result with hair rather than the final outcome people see. Hair has been difficult for me for a while though.

I get that. As I'm learning to draw, hair is definitely one of those things with a difficult start process because unlike the rest of the body, there are no basic shapes to use as the framing for it. Hair is just one of those things that takes a lot of time to perfect

Exactly! One tip would be to think of it in big, medium, and small shapes. First thinking about the whole figure as a big broad shape, then separating it into medium-sized chunks and finally adding some small hair strands at the end.

I see. I use a method of just doing the outline of what it should like and cropping, cutting and breaking of the outline so that what needs to fit inside does. Kinda like a collage almost except with just a bunch of blocks or rhombus
