Moving Update: Brickheadz & Figures! (Patreon)
Content
Here we are again! I’m writing this from the floor looking up at a monstrous mountain of crap that needs to be packed up and prepped for moving, and man does this stress me out.
For the longest time it didn’t really occur to me that one day I might have to transport all of my Brickheadz. So taking on this task feels really daunting compared to some of my other moving projects so far.
For starters there was a lot of dust surrounding this big display of plastic fandom, so there was a lot of cleaning involved with the free standing items upon these cliff sides
But once all that was cleaned, I was able to take down the figures first and pack them all away for moving. Almost like a dig site, I had finally moved all the top soil! :P
I was surpized, and a little bummed to see that some yellowing had already begun to creep over some of these models. (for context, there's a nice large sliding glass window near by and while I've tried my best to prevent direct sunlight to reach my displays, the yellowing still persisted. I mean look at Cyborg here, he's got it the worst...
But I kept packing anyways! I took the time to individually wrap up each build and pack them away into larger bags ready to move! That way if anything was to break, parts wouldn't intermingle and I'd only have rebuild and not sort as well!
The whole process took about 4hrs to clean, sort, and store. But in the end it’ll save a lot of time unpacking! It was a system I developed back when I initially ran out of room in the display cases, so luckily for me there was already another ⅓ of this collection packed and ready to go 👍🏻
This wall is looking really blank now and I can say that this is the first time it’s felt like I’m getting somewhere with all of it! Like I'm actually, really, for real moving all of these things...
Scary stuff, but a good kind of scary.
