Hades DC Brick BTAS Mad Hatter! (Patreon)

Well since I was on track to “return to work” here on Patreon, I figured I’d give you guys another review of a fig I’d been sitting with for a while!

Hades is quickly becoming a staple brand in the community with figs like this. It’s yet another great translation of the source material to lego-form without going a bit too out of the rage of “looking like real lego” and again compliments BlackStar’s bat-fig! What more could you ask

Hades perfectly nailed the Bruce Timm look of this character down to the gross teeth and everything! But again, they kept it simple. It’s why I like Hades so much!

My eyes are drawn all over this fig, from the subtle 360° print around the arms for the coat cuffs, to the brilliantly printed bright white shoes and pants that perfectly color match, all with hardly any ink smudging anywhere!

The torso is also nice and clean with some perfect alignment to the leg print! Man those legs look good! Even from the back where the coattails begin! Wow! Good stuff!

But truly the custom parts seal the deal for me!

The hat and hair for starters is a four colored element that at a glance is so clean you’d assume it’s dual molded. But it’s all custom inked and looks like it may have been hand painted? Hard to tell, but the ink and color applications over what’s ultimately a white plastic resin is quite a testament of how impressive the tech has come in all these years.

The collar is also really nice! A proper line green that’s not too yellow, that holds its own hue when next to the hair! It’s also a nice hard plastic that I’m not worried about breaking anytime soon!

And finally the axe! Hades didn’t need to go this hard but they did and I love it! They could have just made the fig, but nah they went just that much further to make this iconic looking weapon, in equally high quality as the other custom parts!

Honestly it’s a perfect fig! Even at $75 upon preorder. I can’t find any flaws with it! It’s a rare 10/10 for me and all the boxes are checked! I also like it because it makes for a short review and less stuff to type out :P

It’s funny though, while I'm not let down, I’m still kinda surprised we got Mad Hatter before we got a major player like Two-Face or Mr Freeze from any customizer. Though I hear through rumors that those two will be coming down the pipe from Hades one of these days… 🤷🏻‍♂️
