DragonBrick's Werewolf Cap (Patreon)
Content
I’d been passively hunting for this fig for a little while now, and as if by fate, I nabbed one for like $40! And I gotta say I’m happy to finally have one in hand!
It’s a bit of a funny concept in general, but DragonBrick (a brand that seems to have slowly faded out of the limelight) has captured the likeness of the concept quite well for the time! This fig was released around 2016ish if memory serves. A full eight years ago, and ya know what, it’s not too shabby!
Other than the lack of side-torso printing (despite the 360 hip print) this fig stands up pretty well to modern scrutiny. I do find it odd that they would print the belt around the hip piece, but not the rest of the stars and stripes around the torso. I mean sure it’s three layers of ink compared to just one, but man it would have really gone a long way to raise the bar!
And sure, you could argue “but Andrew, it’s based off the Lego Marvel Superheroes 2 Video Game!” But it’s not and you’re wrong! These are similar, but clearly not the same designs! This is a fully original DragonBrick (adapted) Captain America design.
Different mask, different torso design no belt on the hips. Sure they’re similar, but by no means the same!
The head is a cool tidbit to note. It utilizes a full reprint of the Lego CMF Werewolf headpiece to great effect! The element is nice quality (because it’s official Lego) and really brings the whole look of the fig together!
Of course the shield is interesting too. It’s painted over with a red basecoat before the final printed design was applied to the front of the element. It’s not something you see all that often these days.
But hey! That’s it! There’s not much to talk about for this fella other than “I finally got one!”
No shame in being brief, eh?
