MrJ Brick's Kingdom Come Superman (Patreon)

Now THIS is a good MrJ fig!

Compared to my last Kingdom Come Supes (that was close enough to keep in the collection for the time being) this fig is just the superb in almost every other way!

Outside of the corrected dark blue / bright red correct colors, the two facial designs really sell this fig for me! That angry head is SO cool with those printed heat ray vision eyes! The different shades of red look great with how the dark tan insets the eye sockets in that menacing way, all with the wide beams going out on rather side!

It’s good stuff! Like really good! Although I’m not a big fan of the back of the hair…

The front looks great! It has right qualities that Alex Ross’s art brings to the book, but something about it tapering so tightly in the back is a bit weird

tbh it’s one of those things where my brain just wants this fig to have the official Lego Superman hair because why would you use anything else? So here’s what it looks like side-by-side with my last Kingdom Come Superhair. Dosen’t it just look better?

The hard capes are also pretty neat! Their inclusion is nice as it makes this fig fit in better next to MrJ's GL or BlackStar’s Batman

I also appreciate that we get two different capes! Although part of me wishes the wide cape was either wider still, or just swooshing off to one side like LifeBrick’s Snyderverse Superman

Out of the two, I quite like the skinny cape, but it’s a bit of a missed opportunity not to give us at least something a little more action-oriented! The wide one is hardly different enough in my mind to be included. Not to mention the 3D design work on these two are a little flat. You really can’t see much of the shaping without some rather harsh lighting conditions.

Oh and here’s what it looks like on my super old Onlinesailin UV Printed Supes from back in like 2015(ish?)

Oh and I almost forgot to mention this MrJ fig was sold with zero preorder wait! It was shipped out to me a mere three days after I ordered it! Woo! Now that’s what we like to see! :)

And it was only $65 for this fig! Wild!

With those two aspects alone, it was easily my favorite of the bunch!

Maybe MrJ was just having a bad run with these Kingdom Come figs? Who knows! We’ll find out next time I review one of their figs I guess! 😆
