Kryptobat's Metallo V2 (Patreon)

It’s been a hot minute since I've looked at a Kryptobat fig! And what a great way one to tack on to some other Superman stuff this week!

I can’t help but feel like I was a bit of inspiration though after the last time we looked at some KB figs ;)

I mean that old fig was in dire need of an upgrade, and KB really delivered on this new one! The print quality is WAY better than their last fig, as is the design! There’s some nice proper depth in this design with those white highlights too! Not only that, but I don’t feel as though I’m buying an upgraded version of their last Metallo fig! It’s all new from the ground up, with a strong vision for the final result! :)

The inclusion of a Brickarms arm-peg and official Lego robot arm pieces really sells this for me! The big clunky size difference feels very much of the Lego-Spirit in this design that puts a smile on my face.

Speaking of faces, the head design is also really nice! In fact all of the light flesh ink is bright and clean! The eyes might be a little large though (if I was to nit-pick)

If anything though, I think KB’s printer alignment could have been a little more adjusted (check out that gap at the bottom of the torso) Kinda feels like the layers should have all been shifted down (or possibly their printing mount should have been shifted up) by about half a millimeter?

It's less noticeable from the back though.

Other than that, this is a fun fig! A nice blend of official parts and custom prints, all for just $50 and no preorder! I got this shipped to me back during “The Big Move 😵‍💫” so it’s nice to finally take a look at it! 👍🏻
