For a custom minifig that I preordered all the way back in July of 2023, I wasn’t exactly in a rush to photograph it when it finally arrived in April 2025.
That should really be the biggest takeaway from this review, I think. This minifig cost me $115 and took over twenty-one months to get to my door. Almost two years! That’s crazy!
Why the ever living hell did it take this fig in particular, this long to complete is quite literally baffling to me. PCB has even had other Iron Man figs release after this one, and ship out ahead of it! I’m just… I’m appalled, and yet finally relieved to talk about it in hand!
So let's get into it!
Perhaps the wait was worth it, because this fig is solid!
GoldBricks did an incredible job with the production on this little fella (no doubt the proprietors of the delay). Pair that with PCB’s design, and this fig is pretty dang good! That shiny red is still just as impressive as the last time I reviewed a PCB Iron Man! But that gold! Wow is it just perfect!
It’s just the right amount of yellow compared to some of their past Iron Man suits, that just tickles my brain in all the right ways! Particularly around the limbs, it’s some very high quality work here!
While those limbs in particular have amazing printwork, I’m a little miffed that the sides of the torso have no printing. Now I don’t know if it really needed the extra ink at the end of the day, but not to include it when the fig already looks this good, feels like an intentional design choice.
On the topic of prints, the Tony Stark facial design is great! I love that smarmy taunting smile he’s sporting!
Sure, I would have preferred we would have gotten two heads here to go with the two helmets though. The catch-22 being, both helmets have this great tapering design the requires the back of the minifig head to be exposed; ergo the need to add the shiny red base coat to that piece too.
I say that because I’m worried one of these days I’m gonna accidentally scrape some of that face away when swapping helmets all because we weren’t given a spare.
One of the two helmets didn't quite fit all the way on, so you see what I mean by wanting a second head.
But despite it's fit, those helmets in particular are both very good! Really great shaping! Good definition in the details (like the indentations for the bolts of the face plate). They too have a nice consistent coloring that matches the minifig ink perfectly!
The only thing I think I’m not as fond of are the eyes. Something about them feels a little on the small and squat side of things?
Although comparing them to other Iron Man figs, I might just be jaded… or crazy? … or both!
Oh and I can’t forget to mention the magnetic shoulderpads! A very clever design concept that’s been around for a few years now and still looks great!
At the end of all this said… $115 is an amazing price! No doubt about that!
I mean hell, Jin’s was closer to $150 and these two side by side... well they're certainly not the same... or that different... actually I don't what I'm trying to saying here. I just wanted to take some photos of PCB/GB's fig next to Jin's fig!
Apples to apples I guess! 🤷🏻♂️
That twenty-one month wait was not cool. I am however really happy to FINALLY have a Mark 6 MCU Suit! Why has it taken folks this long to make this armor?! It’s like the iconic Iron Man suit!
Ah well. Now that I’ve said that, five different brands are gonna take a stab at it 😅
