Here's a clean look at one of my favorite Forced Perspective Micro Builds to date!
I had a blast building this little Oil Rig! It's got a 5x5 base to center the “command center” and provide room for the big yellow crane. Beyond that, I greebled the hell out it! Long time patrons will probably recognize that little red tugboat from Jimmy Olsen's Giant Turtle Set-Up! ;)

The water splashes were actually quite simple (but extremely fragile!)
These were mostly assembled with studs and 1x2 plates, with a weighty set of bricks to hold them upright!

Way cool! Are we going to see how you did those seagulls?

Andrew Cookston

Hey thanks dude! I wasn't planning on dedicating a full upload to them, but I'm glad you asked :) The seagulls were a very last minute idea to fill in the negative space between the Lighthouse and The Rig. There was an overwhelming amount of blue that was almost disorienting. The birds were a choice made a few days after editing the final image, so rather than re-shooting the entire thing, I photographed some of them on their own (using my standard wire suspension technique), and super-imposed them (with some motion-bluring effects). All in order to fill the image, but not distract from the main focus of the shot :)

Oh, cool! Looking back at the final image, I can see what you mean about all that blue. Thanks for the reply! Cheers.
