What a neat interpretation of this character! Up until recently, Golden Glider  was one of those that fell into the  “nobody’s ever gonna make them!” category! But here we are proven wrong

She’s generally drawn very ethereal and majestic in a way that I never quite thought a custom minifig brand would try and tackle. I mean just take a look at the iconic Francis Manapul’s art!

How on earth would anybody make that into a minifig?! Well I’m just as shocked as you that MrJ and Excelsior managed to pull it off! 

While it’s certainly not the best figure ever made, this may just be the best you could do given the restraints of the common minifigure design. To be fair, Lego themselves did a lot of the heavy lifting back in 2018 with the DC Super-Villains video game 🤷🏻‍♂️

The hair for one thing might cause some debate among collectors, but I kinda dig it honestly! It’s maybe a little long, but thankfully it’s not overly sculpted! 

The ribbon tendrils are also very cool! Super flowy and asymmetrical! 

Thankfully they are made with a sort of thinner malleable plastic that holds its structure, but I’m not worried about it snapping if dropped or fallen over 👍🏻

Then of course underneath all the custom parts, the fig is well printed! I do wish we could have gotten a second expression for each of the eye designs though. Something a bit more aggressive or antagonizing would’ve been nice. She is a bank robber after all!

Outside of the the obvious sentiment “it’s a good figure”, I like it! MrJ and Excelsior yet again bring us something a little left of center, a new character I’ve not gotten in my collection, and a neat attempt at her translation into plastic reality!

Not to mention that $65 feels bang on for the price point!
