Rubber headpieces?! (Patreon)

Yep, you read that correctly! Both Inertia and Impulse's headgear's are cast in a hard rubber mold (similar to the likes of Lego Friends elements). However, the final piece I have in hand though seems to have been coated in a glossy finish to give it more shine and a more convincing appearance.

Luckily for me, the gloss keeps the dust down. But over all, the element still attracts it much more than a standard injection ABS element would. So it's better than what it might have been... but it's not like... incredible. Just pretty soild (can you tell I'm trying not to be harsh about this?) :P

Anyway, here’s some shots of the inside of the headpiece (both Inertia and Impluse's element's are the same material, just different color's fyi). The pieces aren't nearly as clean cut on the inside as they are the outside, but it’s not like you’ll see it all the often anyway....

And not to keep harping on this really well designed piece compared to anything I could ever do... in the top center image you can see that the particular headpiece that I received has little hairs/stringy bits in the inside of the ear section where I'd imagine the mold was removed hastily or not properly. It looks real scrappy compared to the other ear (top right image). Both of these “ears” also do not properly rest against the side's of the head when it's attached.

Overall though, I'm just glad I've got myself an Impluse figure at all! He's not perfect, but he's the best we'll probably get for a long time! :P

All I can say is that there was room for improvement. He's not terrible, but he wasn't amazing either.
