Okay first off it's gonna bug me if I don't say anything, but like… Donut? Not DOUGHnut?! Their whole thing is all about the round pastry-shaped cases but they spelt their brand like Dooo-Nut… idk (maybe I’m just looking too much into this) :P

Anyway here they are!

Both figs have a subtle chromed printing for their emblems and are printed 360° around the legs. The helmets are VERY pointy (but I’ll chat about in a second) All in all, they’re pretty solid figs!

The standard red Jay came with a double sided head with a print that looks nearly identical on both sides! I’m not sure why there wasn’t more variation to begin with; like showing some teeth or something, but when I first saw it with the naked eye, I couldn’t discern a difference! It was only until I made this GIF that I could actually tell one from the other (seems like a waste of ink to me)! Then what’s even more odd is that Hunter Zolomon didn’t have a secondary print on the back of his head. Weird man, weird.

But let’s talk about the coveted show-stealing elements on their heads! By comparison, I still like Christo’s more.

Christo’s design for his headpieces are very reserved and traditional look of a Golden Age Hermes-Esq Flash. They have a very classic look to them; especially when it comes to the gold feathered-winglets.

On the other hand, Donut went for a much more stylized look by elongating, curving, and then shifting the angle of their tips to more of a trianglular shape, instead of leaving them parallel to each other. Not to mention that the smaller sized radius of the helmet makes them look larger as well.

Also… and this might be nitpicking here, but their “gold” isn’t nearly as ‘gold’ as Christo’s. It’s more of an under-saturated bronze if I’m honest.

Additionally, one quality control issue was discovered as soon as I opened them. Right out of the package, one of Hunter’s winglets popped out (no, not broken; it sits loosely in place if you don’t touch it) it's just not glued properly enough!  Something in the production of my specific fig (or possibly from travel) seeing as how their little round containers were packaged caused the winglet to remove itself.

Another thing to note is that the hair is actually its own separate piece as well. So with a total of four different molded elements glued together to make this headpiece, it feels like if I was to drop it on accident it’s more likely to break than Christo’s would.

But despite the helmets and faces, they are pretty decent figs! ...I mean I’m really only impressed by two of their four main elements but maybe it’s just me. I’d love to hear what you guys think! :)

Oh also here’s the “New 52” but not really “New 52” bucket-helmet Flash without his new molded bucket helmet (wow, it's got a little bump on the chin strap!).

If you’ve followed my Patreon for long enough, you know there’s not much to talk about for this figure unless you want to hear me complain about how long it took to get to me :P
