The Bang Shoot (Patreon)

I started this one off by trying to recreate my inspo sketch I made in the middle of the night that woke me from a cold dark sweat (well not exactly), but there was something just too flat about that initial set-up, so I changed up the angles for something more dynamic… which lucky I did because that first draft edit didn’t turn out great (but more in that tomorrow)
It’s a shame that you can’t see more of the build of that tower in the final photos; it was so freaking tall! But that’s what you get when you compromise presentation over drama~
Oh also I should note that because I only own small 10”x10” pieces of paper, I had to move them around during this principle photography to get yellow behind the larger buildings and blue around the rest. Most of what you see in that final product was composite imaging. See what I mean in the photo with my sketch. I only got so far with this ‘first draft’ edit before I decided to abandon it for the other dramatic angle (which I should note went through the same process of moving the paper around and reposing figures and changing the lighting and placing and removing the built letters… just over and over again! It was pretty tedious)
However I’m gonna talk more about the edit tomorrow and how the composite imaging really came into play with this project!
But back to the photoshoot! In a manner of speaking, I took this photoshoot twice. Granted, I didn’t know at the time that the edit wasn’t going to come out so bad, so I’m actually pretty glad I took the time to put in the extra work the second time around :)
Also also had the worst time trying to get GA’s Stupid hat to stay on top of his head but that’s not relevant… it was just a pain in the ass.
